|
Yes it is. Was sold to me as a RAmos T8, I updated it with Ramos firmware and you know the rest of the story. If you can help it'd be cooooool.

Hey Paul, I got your email with the firmware. If you can send me the second one as well and a description on both firmware files that would be great and I will upload it to the site. Thanks for sharing this with us all! |

No luck. Just want to make sure I'm doing this right. All I have to do is copy the files to the hidden partition revealed with rkusb, correct?
|
Alright I got my hands on what I believe to be the correct firmware from another customer of the same ebay seller, qqzidane. Problem is they were sent in 2 batches as my FW source said there were TWO firmware partitions on the player. My player was left with one firmware partition after attempting to wrongly update with Ramos FW, seller misrepresented, which the update tool reformatted and wrote a SINGLE firmware partition to the memory.
Anyway I dropped the main (larger) group of files into my single firmware partition thinking...............don't know what I was thinking there actually, probably that I'd just have another whitescreen player like I've had with all the firmware I've tried. This time though the player wound up with a red screen after powering up, redscreen with a line of question marks if the touchscreen is pressed on, and a redscreen which turns to a blue screen when connected via USB to my PC. The partitions are still visible in 'My Computer' but the firmware files aren't visible and both partitions show a size of '0 bytes.' Is there anyway to restore this? Does the memory need reformatting? How to write the necessary partitions to the player? |
I got one of these from DealExtreme, it's called a Forise 4gb in my case..
Anyways, this is a cool little player, but it has its quirks. Oddities do abound, but overall it's pretty $&#@ cool for 60 bones..
Displays xvid & other .avi files, mp3, photo's, text files. My engrish instruction book describes renaming a file, and it will reload the OS/update from that on boot, but then the interface has an option to upgrade too.. Anyways, it would be nice to find updates for this. touchscreen has a way of picking up erroroneous taps when you go too fast trying to scroll, causing it to open a folder/file that you didn't want to open, then you gotta click [back arrow] and scroll again..annoying.. this would be great if it used corners to scroll.. 8| |
