Chinese Nano Clone Not Working

I recently bought a 16gb Nano clone from Ebay. It worked for about two days. I managed to load a short video and a song. The device showed up as a drive on my PC. It then stopped wotking. I formatted it, but it turns on and stays on blue screen with the timer device. The device is being recognised by the PC and after formatting I loaded another two short video clips. When I play the videos through windows media player from the drive folder, they play on the PC. However, I can't access the menus in the player anymore. Having gone through the info on this site, I'm aware that the device is very likely to be hacked and that it's probably only 2 Gb and not 16Gb as claimed by the Ebay seller. I can see that this is a problem on a massive scale and that I may just have to write the player off. I opened the back to get information.
The number on the display is XY-1 8VBYO311. There is a large chip which reads Samsung and possibly 8116.(some of the info is obscured. There is a small chip which reads AK1025. I can see that installing firmware may cure the problem. However, I don't know which firmware to install. There seem to be a lot of different firmwares. Given the information above, is it possible to get this player functioning again? I'd appreciate any advice.

A quick update. I've just connected the player to my PC after having had it switched off for about 24 hours. It's now completely dead. It doesn't power up whether it's connected to the PC or not. Also, it's now not being recognised by the computer. Does that mean it's the end?

It could be that the USB cable is faulty so it's not charging your player and that might also explain why your player is not powering up as well. Try a different USB cable as well to see if that helps and connects to your computer.

If you can't get it to connect or even show anything up on the screen of your player, then it's most likely dead :(. You can give the article "Recover a Dead Player" guide to see if that helps relive your player. In the meantime, I think you should initate a dispute with Paypal to try and get your player refunded or a replacement player from the seller.....
