Default Help needed for Rockchip RK27SDK -palyer

So, my 8gb player just died on me. The problem is, that I can't get my windows computer to recognize the main memory of the player. The weird part is, that Windows sees the "hidden" 200mb partition.
When I go to disk management in Win it shows the 200mb partition as drive "G"....and there I also see traces of the main partition, but Win cannot even show me it's properties.
In the device manager, under drives, I see the Rockchip device, but when I look at it's properties, it first says "capacity: 8Gb", but right under it where it shows the available volumes, I again see only the 200mb volume.

Any help and tips appreciated!

Jamma from Finland

Hi Jamma

Do you already have a working backup from your player?
If not then please post a photo of your player.

Hi Knob,

...and thanks for rapid reply!

Unfortenately I don't have any backup of from my player.
I think I messed my player while trying to erase the main memory of existing mp3's. I was doing it on my Macbook, and I think I acsidentally formatted both; the 200mb and the 8gb volumes. And after that I can't access the main memory with my windows. On my Mac, I can see the main memory, and also was able to transfer files on it. My player starts up normally, but it tells "no files".

Here is the player:

3 wide Screen 16:9 8GB MP4 MP3 Player TA5-8R [Mp4] - $42.26 : TinyDeal Direct Online Store, MP4/MP3 Player, Mobile Phone, Memory Card, Accessories

EDIT:

One other thing. I opened up my player, and there was this Samsung chip inside. I can check the exact code of it if needed.

If your player starts up normally then maybe your firmware is ok.
Strange you have a 200Mb partition, should be 60Mb for Rk27xx players.
Have you tried opening using rkusb.tag to get to the firmware?
Are you sure your player is RK27xx series?

Actually, I'm not sure if it is RK27xx series. Where/how can I check it?

Like I said, when I opened up the player, it said "Samsung + numerial code" on one of the chips.

The player does start up OK...but the problem is that my windows sees pnly the 200mb partition.

So, basically, I need to recover the main memory somehow.

OK, I started up my player again, and went to System Information, where it said:

*******************************
Product name: R27SDK
Major Version ID: 1,2
hardware ID: 080530
Local Memory size:0,000G(Used)
0,200G(total)

***********************************

So, it seems it is R27 series. And the palyer only sees that 200mb partition as does Windows.

It's looks bad. I think your player is either memory hacked or has an
hardware defect on the memory.

I think your firmware is ok, hidden inside the 60mb partition, have you tried the rksub.tag
trick to try to make it appear?

The 60mb firmware partition will never show up in system information. The 200mb must be the main memory either hacked or defective.

My player is back up and running!!

I'm not sure what exactly was wrong with it, but I got it all sorted out with the HP USB disk format tool. It recognized the main memory as 8GB, and after I formatted the partition to FAT32 all was OK.

Thanks very much for tips and help.
