Default iPod 3g 4GB dead

Hi,
I have a fake iPod 3g. with the sandglass, ~ I turned it on and it wont go, which from what I can read here, it is a dead player and needs firmware replacing
.
I have searched with the identifying codes off the back of the chips, but can only find AK1025 as a common search result, but there are so many - any one be able to help me identify what firmware and Utility software i actually need.

On the chips are:
Hynix
HY27UV08BG5M
TPCB
752A

and the other chip:
AK1025
7L046AB 1LK

Hope you can help.
Thanks T

OK, I've read loads on here, I've got the player into recovery mode (AFDU Device), the MP3 Player Utilities Tool saying its recognised the device, but of the FW's I've down loaded with the player Ulilities is telling me 'Invalid Firmware upgrade file' -

I've got some more info:

Board ID: GOLZI G-18_Main_V0.6 2007.12.08
Screen: TGS1775SH00

This guy has an identical player (its a link to the forum thread),
Hourglass on fake ipod nano..
The Hynix chip numbers (752A) are different - and the AK1025 chip numbers are slightly different (7L046Ab 1LK) - I guess thats why the FW he used does'nt work.

I've searched for *.fw files on the small CD that came with the Player Utilities SW- but no joy.
I guess you need the exact FW type ?? is there anyway round this if I can find it ?

So near, I've managed to find this FW:

AK1025 G-18A_Main_V0.6 2007.12.08_G_1221_IPOD.fw

Anyone know what the '_G_1221_' means in the file name ?

And tried this FW:

G-TGS177SHOOS1221IPOD.fw

But Player Utility tells me they are invalid firmware.

I gather you can make up firmware by taking apart others and adding what you need to suit your hardware, is that right ?

Does the 'AK1025' number on one of the chips tell me its an 'Actions' firmware ?? - if so then how do I know what version - or is it just a case of trying different versions.

OK, using Player Utilities 4.15 (not 3.6 and these firmwares:

G-TGS177SHOOS1221IPOD.fw (in a folder named: AK1025 Golzi G-18 FW)
AK1025 G-18A_Main_V0.6 2007.12.08_G_1221_IPOD.fw

Found on the Thread:
Hourglass on fake ipod nano..

I can get the player to at least show me life (menu's),, but when I try to access the 'Music' menu I get 'Disk error'.

I have tried the Memory Hack Guide using MP3 Player Disk Tool, but still get 'Disk Error' - I note the 'BG' in the Hynix Chip I have (HY27UVO8BG5M) denotes a 4 GB memory - which concurs with what the above thread ('Hourglass') describes as his memory, could the firmware I'm using still be a bit off ??

Any ideas ?
