Help please!

Hello guys! I'm going crazy with a player that I'm trying to repair. Something it's going wrong and exceeds my knowledge.
Let's start with the device description:

http://www.gadgetometro.com/wp-conte...od-nano-4g.png

It looks like this one, pink coloured, but is not I-Pod, it's chinese.

Board: T518 Main PCB V03 (the Firmware was hard to get, but I found it)
Chip1: hynix HY27UT088G2M
Chip2: AK 1025 7J007AB

Display (Having problems with his): SH-BL1011WB-07/11/23

Now, what's the problem? It fell to the ground, and then the screen turned white. I blindly tested it and the player was working (I could listen to music and all, I just wasn't able to see anything but white in the display screen).
After googling, I saw many people having this problem and it could look like a firmware problem (maybe when it hit the ground it caused a failure on the firmware). So, 1st of all, I dumped the firmware to my PC, and now that firmware doesn't work ("Invalid firmware upgrade" MP3 player utilities says).
I can upload the new one, but I think I'm missing something here:

When I plug the device, I can see it plugged as ADFU device or "actions 2.0 winhusb device" (something like that) but I fail to see it as a disk. Also, MP3 player utilities works as if the device is plugged but I can't see it in the program, like this:

and I can't move from there, It won't detect it as a disk, mp3 player utilities won't detect the device, nothing. I tried a couple of different versions of MP3 Player utilities (1.48, 3.4X, 4.13 and 5.19) and none of them made any differences.

Any clues, please? I don't know what else to try. Thanks in advance!

NO! This is a HARDWARE problem. Now you put the wrong firmware on, and with a broken display... really, I don't know what to say.

D'oh!!

Now the idea of leaving it on the middle of the street and see how a car runs over it makes more sense, huh?

thanks for your input!
