Default Music file deleted

I really need help with my mp4 player

I connected my mp4 player to my computer via USB to copy some music onto my mp4 player. I then wanted to delete one of the folders with songs from the music folder and somehow the whole music folder was deleted from the mp4 player. It didn't end up in my recycle bin so I don't know where it went. Then I created a new folder there where the old one used to be and copied the muic to it but the mp4 player doesn't want to play any of the mucis. When i disconnected the mp4 player from my computer and I try to play a song it says 'open failed'.

It'supposed to have a media player ver: 1018_090212_dev_tp_CM_OV_S thingy but I don't know where to go to reinstall this "driver".

I have a driver cd but I don't understand any of the things it has on.

Can you please help?

Thanks

Files deleted from a removable drive NEVER end up in the recycle bin. Remember that.

Try reformatting the player just like you would a regular flash drive, use FAT format if the player is smaller than 2GB or FAT32 if otherwise. Then power it up and let it make the folders on its own, then put music into those folders.

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not so clued up about this kind of stuff. On the mp4 player there is an option to format it, should I just choose that option? Won't I have to repload all the stuff onto the player or does it do it by itself?

Will it need to be connected to the computer with a USB cable?

Thanks for helping :-)

If it does have the option, use it. Then all you'll have to do is copy all your music again.
