Default I killed my rca opal mp3 player

I got it used yesterday from a family member. He didn't have the disk anymore so I looked up what I could find at RCA and downloaded both the restore utility and the auto updater.

It worked great yesterday except that he had put the audio books in the music file instead of the audio books file. I decided this morning to change them doing what he had told me to do but the player now sits in front of me dead.

I tried repeatedly to change the books. They are stored now on my computer and were listed in 3 places on the player. In the Line In file, the Music file, and the Video file. Those were the only ones I was able to get to. However none put the books in the audio books file. I finally save the books on my computer and started the restore program. It popped up the instructions along with the program. I followed the instructions and went through the first steps great. It went on to format *program insisted* and got stuck in the initializing part. I followed the troubleshooting steps unplugging it, hitting reset with a toothpick, holding play while plugging it in. Now it won't even start up. Nothing. The computers won't even recognize it's there.

I don't know how to find the original program that was in it or if it's even worth trying to get running.

The information on it is: I have linked it so you can see what it looks like.

RCA Opal MP3 model #M4002C SN: RA213JO152707

I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks

ETA: I popped the cover and it has 2 large chips. The one with the pins on all sides says Sigmatel stmp3550 lae-ta6 uo4780 0736 sg

Could someone help me find the right programming and explain how to restart it so it has life again or if there is no hope and I should just buy the one I found. Thanks.
