T8 imovie Mp4 player - touch screen is non-responsive

Hello im new to the forum.
I have a T8 imovie mp4 player. when last used, about 3 months ago, it worked fine. When i got it out of its box today the touch screen is non-responsive. :confused:
Please help if you can.
