Rockchip 2705 MP4 Malfunction - Fixed!!!
Oh wow! I can't believe my MP4 is working again! I thought I would have to buy some electronic parts! Yesterday I was using my MP4 when I dropped it 50cm onto the hard plastic of a electric power board (you know the ones which allow you to plug in 4+ electric devices at the same powerpoint?)Anyway this caused things to go haywire. The splash screen would load up and the pictures wouldn't. I couldn't even play videos cuz the pictures wouldn't load. So i tried opening it and looking around. Actually i made it worse when both connections of the speaker and the red connection of the battery disconnected.
That's ok, ill solder it. I hadn't soldered much b4, just once. And i managed to solder the wires again. So i was back to my original problem. I decided to copy stuff from my backup of firmware fortunately which i learnt from these forums a few months ago otherwise i'd be dead, but had to delete everything from the hidden partition first. Strangely the BMP0.bin file refused to delete (error corrupt file or something). So i formatted the partition, copied my backup and OMG! I can't believe it works again!! Even after poking around inside the circuits just a firmware replacement worked!!! Hopefully anyone who might have problems might find this helpful at least i learnt that i can actually solder and discovered what my mp4 player looked like inside. |
Thanks for posting this and letting us all know.
It's great to hear that you've had success with recovering your player. Is there any chance you could upload your player's firmware to this site? It will appear in the Downloads page and may help other users in the future. |
sorry having trouble uploading it. and forgot about it for a while. will try later today
