Undetected MP4 and Loading problem

my SB-266 Mp4 that looks like an Ipod 3rd gen can't be detected by my laptop. If you plug the USB,it only lights up as if it's loading. But it only stays on that phase for a long period of time. It never reaches the music icon? what should I do? Please Help :(
