hanging e-reader (rk2738 msc dead)

hi ,

don't shoot me for my bad english !!!

i have a hanging e-reader nothing is working ( the buttons )

with usb cable i see to drives poping up

i have read all ( i think ) threads about it

problems with the solution is :

with pin 29 and 30 connected ( soldering , therfore good connection)
the e-reader gives a usb device !
because how must the pc know about a RK28USB ?? driver
i don't have it on the pc ( windows xpsp2 32 bit)

so how can i alterated the ini files ??

in RKupgrade v1.27 i can see the ini file and change it in 0x2207 and 0x273a

the problem stil there where is the RK28USB driver ???

thus without connection there is a poping 2 drives
with connection 29pin+30pin there is USB DEVICE ? or ! , no program for this device.

without drivers the RK28upgrade 1.27 will never work :)

Are you sure that you need RK28 driver? In the thread title, you specified "RK2738" - RK27 processor family, not RK28.

Okay, I give it to you:

Download EBOOK_FM5807p_V2.rar

You can find RK28 Windows XP driver in the following folder:

Code:

EBOOK_FM5807p_V2 --> Toolv1.27-2738 -> RK28 --> Driver --> x86 --> xp
It should work, but I cannot test it. So, if it doesn't, just tell me and I try to find another.

By the way, I recommend you to upgrade from SP2 to SP3:

thank for the files

i have also sp3 for windows

but i found out what the problem is with my e-reader ;)

its the keyboard !!!

the keyboard mat is loose from the plastic
therefor more key's are in contact with the
mainboard of the reader.

also the keyboard is to close to the keyboard mat ??
searching now for plastic o rings between
MB and the plastic outside
the srews then can not put the keyboard mat
against the mainboard

sometimes the problem of hanging is not
the frameware but the people whom
pressing key's to hard every time in years ;)

maybe other people have the same problem
check the working e-reader loose from all the plastic ;)

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am really glad that you fixed your e-reader :)

no thanks ;)

it's working

the only trouble is the speaker ;(
because they are connected with thin wires
the speaker is dead.
because a have opened the e-reader to much.

i did put an other speaker from a old telephone
in the e-reader , and there was sound !!!

the o ring where to big 0.5 mm
therefor they keymat a little bit inside know
if you push a button
and the shell outside from plastic is just fitting
no space left.

main think is it's working now !!!
