Help advice with dead 8gb mp5 player

Hi Guys,
New to forum.
Trying to fix my daughters MP5 player which is just over a year old, and wont turn on except when plugged into pc and all i get is welcome screen and loading logo, which doesn't go away.
Is detected by USB but no longer have the disk with driver on it.

About the MP5 player
generic / no brand
board zx-8023r-tlsk-t-v5.5
main chip atj2257 (zc74bac b8a)

I have more details of chips, cam, lcd etc if you need them.

Please advise if this is fixable, i don't mind spending time on this but prefer not to spend $$s.

that version of player is to much old and also create a problem day by day. the efficiency of that play is not compatible.

That's no help at all. Player was bought new for Xmas 2011, only 15 months ago, so I can't see how it's too old.
