Upgrading a new firmware to a working players is not advisable. As long as its working, don't upgrade it.

Try formatting using Mp3 Utilities Disk Tool.

If it doesn't work, its a firmware problem.Maybe the firmware you have used to upgrade is corrupted or its not "too" compatible for your player.

Hi
Question: Why do you want to format the player?

Try the HP Formatting Tool, you'll find it here: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197

I know it looks like the Windows format tool, but beleve me it's not. This will erase everything, including the firmware. So you'll have to reinstall it after formatting. Hope it helps. Good luck

P.S. If your player's memory is below or equal 2Gb, use FAT sistem

arbaoui5,its a firmware problem.Shorting the pins and flashing a new firmware(back up firmware of your player) will do the trick.
