AK2025 / "nano" 3rd gen 8GB firmware needed!

Hey everyone;
Today, just arrived my "new" Mp4 player with "real" 8GB memory. "Real" because the flash its a Samsung K9HCG08U1M.

The bizarre thing was that I read about the memory hack, and so I have done all the tests (and finally opened up the player to see the memory chip) and the Mp3 Player Utilities (almost all versions) detected the memory for format with 4GB. But, to repartition, it was there the 8GB.

All done following the instructions found in this forum, I put some Mp3 and 2 AMV movies on that "thing", to see how it works with subtitles. The good thing was that I'm able to read subtitles, the LCD screen dont "pixelize" too much.

But, "life is not made only by flowers"... ahaha :D

The second movie was restarting the player. And the memory hack stories made my mind up  and I format the ChiPod many times to see if there was any chance to the memory was hacked, but it seems to be OK, repeating that "scene" that I tell you, the bizarre 4GB/8GB partition. Both Windows/HP USB tool formats/reads as 8GB, even when the player was with 4GB after formating in low mode with MP3 tools.

YES, I leave it with 4GB, but the restarts ocurred also. So, I formatted it with 8GB, using Windows AND HP tool.

The player slowly "dies", now it even turns on anymore :(

I have "dumped" the firmware too, but, the s1fwx only reads 2 files from the binary. Very strange and I'm not secure to use it to flash on the player with Mp3 tools. Now, it even get recognized by Windows and I can't put it as ADFU USB device.

Anyway, anyone have the firmware for this ChiPod ?

Its a Actions AK2025 chipset, with K9HCG8U1M Samsung flash memory, display is BKS-LC172A15555 (2008-8-2) Board is BKS202556_MV3.

The firmware found in the player screen (seen on "system menu", when it was alive :( )is:

MP3 PLAYER
BKSD2025A22-00
2008-06-24
9.5.54
2008-08-05

Thanks !

I also own an actions QS_ak2025 9.5.54 2008/09/05 2008/0423 chippod. Mine died within 2 weeks after I received it. I tried to put additional songs on it after loading it up with about 4gb worth of music and the files became corrupted. I know I performed the proceedure of adding music to it correctly using windows media player version 11. Later when I found out it had hacked memory I tired to extract the firmware using s1res but to no avail. This thing is a piece of junk. It can only be used now as a flashdrive. Windows XP recognizes it as having 7.76 gb of memory. So does mp3 utilities as well. Does anyone know where I can find this firmware so I can download it?

thanks in advance
Ted
