I have a 4gb 2.8" lcd touch screen mp4

I tried this firmwares and many others but still haven't found it.
The chip is rk2608a
b97370 0840
The flash is samsung 831 k9gag0uom

Hi, i bought a mp4 player from mercadolibre, i have tested over 25 firmware files, and some got me to the blank screen, others to the inverted screens and some others to the disabled touch screen.

my problem is solved, this is the from my mp4 player data:

"Goodbye" shutdown screen

i uploaded this file, a big one, with the firmware that worked for me, the instructions and some other options that could work for you in case that the firmware that worked for me doesn't work for you.

what program are you using to flash your player? I have one just like it with the rk2608a chip, but no program I've tried is able to find the player, although windows sees it as a removable drive.

its included in the download link ( http://www.megaupload.com/?d=40CGVXKB ) its the rockchip product tools (consumer update v3.1.2.1), you can get your player in update mode by pressing the "M" button while the player is turned off and keep pressing "M" while you connect it to your pc. if your player was already updated and you get a blank screen or an inverted one, pressing "M" probably wont work, you will have to open up your player and apply the recovery method, (a link explaining its in the readme file in the download link) or you can search for in in this site.

nice, but the MP3 player utilities still doesn't find any rockchip devices (although the rockchip usb device now shows up after that driver update) and I don't understand whether or not you can use the consumer update in your link to back up your firmware (which is what I truly want for my rockchip 2608a device) If you know a way, please send it my way! Thanks.

the consumer update tools cannot back up your current firmware, and from what i found trying to recover my mp4 device, it is not posible to back up the current firmware from a rk2608, i think it is posible with rk27xx devices, but not with rk2608 chipset, at least that's what i found. if your 2608 device is working firmware, do not update the firmware to try make your device work better, update it only if you need to recover it.

you have to use the dead player guide posted here somewhere. Hey ARMGUTX i tried your files on my player but they did not make the camera function on mine but i did find a firmware that has fixed it. I must have tried 30 or more firmwares on this Onda clone with no luck.

the file i tried from armgutx looked identical but the camera didn't work and the player just returned to the main menu after failing to initialize it. Link for firmware i used

Hoskins41, glad you could make your player work!, my device had no camera so i couldn't test if the firmware works with the mp4 player with camera

Now that you found a working firmware for the mp4 player with camera i will download it, just in case i get one. thanks
