Itchee/rizone 32gb 2.6 mp4

Hello guys,
Great to see a website out there to help tackle the problems that seem to arise with buying MP3/MP4 Players from Hong Kong/China etc. OK, i've not been able to find any details on these players. I've formatted it numerous times and it does seem to say there is still 32GB. HOWEVER, there seems to be other problems with it, mainly, the firmware is ridiculously shakey. No video that i've put on has played yet. only the video that came with it, and when i took that off and put it on myself it didn't play. I'm wondering if that is something to do with sync'ing because when I first owned it, I dragged and dropped my music files onto it, and it didn't play but then I used WMP to sync it and it was fine. Sadly, I can't find any details on the internet about it. I was hoping that maybe you could help me find some firmware. The chip says: SAMSUNG 907, K9LBG08U0M ,PCB0, YCA870CBC

Thanks

ahh an actiona player with the 21 series in - these are very rare in chinese player

video should be drag and drop and needs to be AVI 320x240 XVID with mp3

as to why you cant copy the original back to play is odd, it must be your machine that is at fault here

i have a player using the same chip and all works OK

have you tried a different PC at all

Skezza 8th Jun 2009 4:20 am

I have not tried another PC. Is it worth using a PC loaded with Vista ? Or upgrading WMP 10 to 11 to see if Sync'ing using that helps? I've tried drag n drop quite a lot and it just doesn't seem to want to do it at all :( Which is why i think my firmware may be corrupt.

Any more advice you can give me?
Joe

makd511 8th Jun 2009 4:20 pm

if drag n drop wont work then sync aint gonna be much help - does the player actually work OK apart from this - these players are designed to drag n drop rather than sysnc anyway

trying another PC is needed really as you may have a virus or something - have you scanned the player at all
whaen you formatted the player di you replace all the original folders that were on the player - do vids need to be in the VIDEOS folder at all??

That's 4GB, not 32GB.

Thought so, and that is why it has been failing. Looks like they've conned us :D luckily, i didn't leave feedback as of yet, so i'll take out a disgruntled buyer thingy mabob. ;) Annoyingly, i've been trying to get videos uploaded and it has been failing miserably and i thought it was windows, but it is not, it is the player. The player seems to insist its 32GB and even formatting it won't sort that. Thanks very much for your help and BEWARE! kinhome88.

Thanks very much guys for your help! :)

And once again, I'm reminded why i don't normally buy stuff from China

Mine just sits there with the hello on the screen now. I tried to copy about 3.5gb of files to it to test it.
It is not recognised by windows when connected via cable.
Anyway to reset these and correct the size as there was with older models?

(The seller is no longer a registered user and Ebay has, as usual, removed the listing evidence. I will still get money back from paypal despite paypals every attempts to circumvent this.

Skezza 9th Jun 2009 1:53 pm

Toby,
did it work? did the firmware reduce the faked file storage to 4.5gb or whatever... also, how much did you pay for the item? Which firmware worked etc?

Cheers,
Joe

tobyjugg2 12th Jun 2009 7:38 am

I cant get the d*mn thing to be recognised in windows to flash it, or use the mp3 tools poductions SW to get rid of false memory size.

Should have 'tooled it before tried copying files.

Got it apart and running tweezers down chip legs is doing squat.

Its a pretty little 'hello' player so far.
Paid 16 quid and will get it back even if I have to raise collusion with internet fraud claim against Ebay.

:((

Skezza 12th Jun 2009 11:08 am

my particular seller has offered me a refund, but has not stated how much, so ive asked him to disclose this info.

admin 13th Jun 2009 4:33 am

Toby,

If you paid by PayPal, you can put a DISPUTE claim against the seller. State the player was faulty and not working and go from there... Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hi Jonsie,

Can you create another thread for your problem? Detail with more information about your player, where you bought it from, what the firmware version is etc... If it's video related, please put it in the "Video Related" section and we'll help you out there.

Skezza 13th Jun 2009 9:26 pm

to be honest, i think we all need to start hitting these claims in. what is the worst that can happen aye?

Jonsie7 14th Jun 2009 1:03 am

I'm thinking about getting an ITCHEE player.

All my movies are in XVID format, mp3 320x180.

What is playback like on the player? Smooth? True 32GB?

Any idea how it compares with the Pre Eb 16GB MP3/MP4/MP5 Player?

Skezza 17th Jun 2009 6:26 am

We've already established that it isn't true 32gb.

Skezza 17th Jun 2009 6:28 am

I am just seeing if i can get anything from the seller, if not, im gonna start opening a new case!

..but also not 4GB as mentioned in other posts; so what is the max capacity then?

whistler 17th Jun 2009 6:40 am

I bought a Itchee player on ebay before finding this site. I should receive it soon. Are all these players hacked or do some really have the 32Gb memory? Also is it still possible to upgrade the memory using a 16Gb sd card? Or am I really stuck with a 4Gb player? I have allready mailed the seller showing him the topics on this site about the Itchee player and telling him that I will check the memory when the player arrives.

Thanks for clearing up the details.

ibanez1965 17th Jun 2009 10:48 am

It would be great if someone who has one of these players could post a personal review:

How much memory? Seems like some have 'fake memory' allowing you to copy as much data as you want onto the player, but you can't retrieve the data. I contacted the seller of the itchee player that I am bidding on and send him these links. He did a test and was able to copy 28GB of data onto the player. He also copied the data off the player into another directory on his computer successfully. Most of the files used in the test were picture files and they all opened ok after the test.

Is the player able to play AVI/XVID files? If yes, what is the quality of the playback? (subjective)

Would be a great help knowing this..

*UPDATE* Seller has now asked me to withdraw my bid as he has retested the device (2Htest) and is only able to copy 3.8GB onto the player!

The chip is K9LBG08U0M which is 32Gbit so only 4GByte

I got a Rizone alleged 32GB, but only 4GB. It fails if filled beyond 4GB, but I have been using by keeping it at less than 4GB and if I need to use a micro sd card to add more files. Seller offered a refund, if I shipped it back, but the cost of shipping and delivery confirmation is as expensive as what I paid for the player. So, I got the seller to refund 1/2 the purchase price. Then for around $14 for a 4GB player with a micro SD slot is not a bad price. I am listening to the FM radio right now and I like it because it will keep the channel I am listening to even if I shut it down. I tried formatting, disktest, and MP3 Player Disk tool and could not get it to reformat at the valid size. I believe that the firmware is hacked, because each time the file structure, e.g., movies, pictures, keeps returning after a reformat, repartitioning... It would be nice to format to correct size, but so far as long as I don't fill it beyond 4GB, seems to work.

The AVI file that came with is quite clear and sharp. I going to try to make an AVI file to see if it plays. I could not get it to play MP4, nor MPG files.

Maybe, since ie works, just leave it alone.

Would be nice if I knew how to reformat to correct size, so I won't have to worry about putting too much on the internal memory. By doing so, I have corrupted other files.

Have you tested it with a micro sd card? Does this work? I do hope so. I will have mine wednesday but i dont hope it to be 32gb anymore so being able to use micro sd card would be helpfull.

pat77 23rd Jun 2009 1:56 am

I tried using a 1GB micro SD card and it works. It seems a bit sluggish though then browsing, so I don't know how a 16GB micro SD card would work IF it would work at all.

whistler 23rd Jun 2009 1:57 am

So better to have severall small ones instead of one big one. Thank you for the information!

pat77 23rd Jun 2009 5:11 am

Oh and when you go to the Music section and then to All Music it will only look at the internal memory. So when you want to play music off your micro SD card you will have to go to the Directory Listing, select external memory and then play the music.

Skezza 25th Jun 2009 5:45 pm

I am going to ask the seller for a 50 percent refund. I guess that is reasonable. It is sad because the player does have potential.

kqk 26th Jun 2009 5:15 am

It seems to have around 4GB of real memory , the rest of memory is useless as you cannot even retrieve files , neither does it play music, video or show pics if its more than 4GB .

The player does play AVI files with Xvid codec , shows JPEG and GIF images as thumbnails and loads them pretty fast. Overall its really good player for its price , just keep in mind that its actually 4GB.

Skezza 26th Jun 2009 10:17 am

anyway of actually making it 4gb?

billygoodman10 26th Jun 2009 10:34 am

similar but different problem. I purchased one of these from a Hong Kong Ebay seller for music storage and playback only. Btw, it is 30 plus GB. Initially I could not get it to work until after reformating the drive. Since then I have loaded music by drag and drop and am listening to it now. It actually sounds pretty good and for $33.00 i think it may be a bargain. However I find the controls very confusing. Any suggestions?

You are saying you formatted it and it fully works ? i formatted it as well few times but there is no way to make use of more than 4 GB . Mine was $24 but its probably the same . anyway its not possible to get a real 32gb memory storage device for that price and thats an mp4 even , so manufacturers probably use this fake memory advertising to sell it ,otherwise wouldnt attract so much attention and I am sure none of us would buy it :)

Goobridge 27th Jun 2009 1:30 pm

Hi,

I also just bought one of these player, and first it worked fine, but after it went in sleep-modus, the player doesn't startup anymore and the only thing I see is HellO.. Can somebody help me?

Thanks a lot!

billygoodman10 28th Jun 2009 12:18 pm

Sorry, I wrote too soon. After reformating it played the first few songs only. I have written the following to the seller hoping for a refund:

Re: the RIZONE MP3 player
Bottom Line: It does not work, please refund my money.

Hi,

I have now spent the most of 3 days attempting to get this unit to work properly. I have followed all of your instructions and suggestions. It does play a few, very few songs, that I have loaded. I have not tried any other functions.

I have an HP Computer with Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System.

When connecting to the computer by USB the computer does not recognize the RIZONE player as another drive. After several attempts and changing the connections they will recognize each other. After this recognition I have, on many attempts, tried to load Music on MP3 files by drag and drop. This is always followed by various error messages. Usually the error message is “An unexpected error prevented the operation. Make a note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help to resolve this problem.

Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.”

I have received other error messages. One of the more common is that there are errors on the drive (Drive H the RIZONE.) and that I had choices to make: “ 1) Automatically fix file system errors and 2) Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.” in an effort to resolve these issues I have placed check marks in the boxes next to both options and, after several attempts and many hours, this message still appears.

To solve these problems I have tried many things, including but not limited to, following your suggestion to reformat the RIZONE. Following the reformat I have replaced all the files in the PLAYLIST Folder. None of these actions solved the problems associated with this MP3 player. After reformatting I still get the above error messages.

As nothing works please refund my money.

If you want me to return this non-working unit to you please send me the postage. However it appears to me that the cost of shipping, repairing and restocking would far exceed any value that this non working unit may have.

rizone32gb 30th Jun 2009 8:19 pm

I've tried a 4GB micro SCHC card and it did fine. However, after about a week, the unit quit keeping a charge. When I charge it, it will say it is full. But, when not connected to the PC via USB, it shows low battery and and will not play. It seems to be going downhill. I player will now only work connected to the PC. Virtually useless now, since I can do the same thing on my PC.
