Hello!
I have a dead Sigmatel neckband 1GB MP3 player. It looks like this one except that the one in the picture has an FM radio function. Mine does not.
The player is seen in My Computer as a Removable Disk but it has no capacity and when I try to format it it says that it has 0KB capacity.
I tried using the firmware update utility, but it says : unable to load resource.dll : stmpres.dll
The specified procedure could not be found. I've tried running the program in windows 98 and windows xp and windows 7. Same error.

In case someone has had some experience with this player, before it went bad the green LED was on while the red one was only on when copying files to it. Now the green is off and the red is always on.
I've opened the player and found this info on it :
MS8801 VER 1.3
2006 11(or f1;can't make out which one) 17.
I hope someone can help me with this.
