Please, I need firmware for unknown mp4 2.8 in, touchscreen, 4 gb. No camera.

I have a mp4, not sure of the brand, I think it's a OEM ONDA clone or copy. Pictures are below. It's 2.8 inches, 4 gigabytes with space to put more if I want, and it's touchscreen. There's no camera.

It can connect to the computer, but when I do so it says "Found new hardware: USB Device" and the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' thing pops up. I'm on Windows XP. The Found New Hardware Wizard thing says 'This wizard helps you install software for :USB Device. If your hardware came with an installation CD or floppy disk please insert it now.' and so on. Unfortunately my mp4 didn't come with anything besides a wire, recharger and stylus. So I don't have any hardware.

The pictures above are how it was before. Now the screen is completely black and won't turn on, no matter what I do. I've already tried the Hard Recovery method that's shown on this forum. That managed to get the computer to read it as a USB device, when previously it didn't show up at all. But it won't show up in My Computer or anything.

Since you can't see the design clearly, I should probably point out that it has three holes in the top for the sound, instead of just one, and no holes or indents near the bottom above the buttons. From what I've read that seems to mean it's an OEM?

I can only read the full text on one of the black box things. It says:

Samsung 016
K99AG08U0D
PCB0
966XT

Which you can see from the picture. I don't know if the zeros are zeros or o's. I assumed they were zeros.

The other box is blocked out by that white thing, which is attached to it and I can't get it off. The little bit I can see on the top says 20A and below it 468 Korea. Sorry I can't read it better, I'm farsighted and it's rather faint. The picture's rather clear though, so maybe you can make something out from it. Oh, and please ignore the time and date stamps at the bottom of the pictures. My camera's time and date is off. I got this mp4 several months ago.

Before when it was working, it said in player information that it's name was Mediaplayer and it's version was 1018_090212_dev_tp_CM_OV_S

So anyway, I don't know what type it is exactly, nor what firmware it needs, or (when I get the firmware) how to upload the firmware. I do have Rockchip Consumer Update, but I don't know if my thing is a rockchip ( I don't even know what a rockchip is). When I try to use it it says 'Finding USB Device...-Please Wait! USB Device not found.'

On a positive note, my brother has the exact same mp4. But it doesn't show the firmware anywhere. It just has the "Music, Text, Pictures, Movies, etc." folders. And there's no firmware anywhere in them. But there must be firmware on the mp4, cuz really, it's not like it could function without it. So I was hoping maybe there's someway of finding and getting that firmware from the working mp4, and copying it? But I don't know how to find or get it, and if I do manage to, how would I move it on to my nonresponsive mp4?

The broken mp4 doesn't show up on the computer, or anywhere besides a little icon on the bottom that can't be clicked or made to do anything. The only thing that appears to read and be able to contact the mp4 is the "Found New Hardware Wizard."

I have looked at the dead recovery page and tried it, and it did help in that my computer can now register there's a usb device connected. From what I understand, I now just need the appropriate firmware, and a way to get it on my mp4. The screen's still totally black and unresponsive in any way.

So yeah, sorry that's so so long, but I figured the more information the better chance there is of knowing what firmware I'd need, how to get it on, and someone being able to help me. Thank you.
