Smile Craig CMP621F 4GB MP3/MP4 Player firmware (attached)

The local US-based pharmacy chain "CVS" closed out a run of these, as well as some other models. This model has a 2.8" diameter touch screen screen, and LOOKS like (but I guess is NOT) an Onda clone. Same UI look and feel, like a mini iPod/iPhone, but made of plastic with 4 physical buttons on the body (power, plus, minus, and menu), a MiniSD slot, a USB connector, and 6 functions on the main interface screen. It lacks games, playlists, and most irritatingly: the ability to play files or folders once ("off" is not one of the Repeat options... so it will play one song or one folder forever until out of power).

Internally, it has a Rockchip 2705 on the circuit board (I opened it up to check, and it's definitely 2705).

The system information in the OS shows
  • Product name as RK27SDK
  • Major version ID of 2.2
  • Hardware ID of 080722.
I placed the rkusb.tag file on the only partition I could see, and rebooted the player. Voila! Two new partitions appeared in Windows (in addition to the main user partition for file storage).

I successfully extracted the contents of the two hidden partitions. I tried to upload the two partitions in one zip, but that file was too large for the board... so what files do I need to upload here to be able to share the firmware with others?

Thank you!

kirk
