Hi, it's one of the most available players. Loads of them on ebay, but I can advice you to try uxcell, 2 gig will be 2 gig, and the posting tariff is the most friendly I have found sofar. You can get them at a lower price off ebay, but postage will always make up for low selling price, some ask 10x the actual posting fee! And then there's the warranty problem, you will not use it with that posting prices, coz a new player is cheaper then sending it back, if it is broken.
One thing about those players, battery life is low, from 4 to 8 hours with conservative encoding settings, like 128kb and screen mostly off. Do check out the foto-gallery here, a lot of them there too.

Hi, I just received my Super i Plat 2 Gig from Uxcell, I ordered on Thurs 21st of Dec and it arrived Friday the 29th of Dec here to Australia!! I was expecting it to be at least the second week of January considering Xmas and the earth quakes!! So I praise them for their service!!

This player, by all accounts is really 2 G. I ordered the white 1.8 inch screen variant and I have filled mine to the top and it is all playing nicely!!so far no corrupt files tell tailing a hacked mem chip. I have about 12 albums of various Bit rated music put on mine already.
My only crit is that the screen and click wheel is formatted sideways to view the menu and video content, which is (for Me) unfortunate I only am going to utilize the music aspect of it and sorta wish I had known it was like this as the Uxcell promo images on the site portray a completely different type than is actually for sale!! Unless the chinese factories knock these out so fast that models change so rapidly is something to take into account. The battery is only a 180 mAh 3.7v battery too!! I was under the impression they where at least a 250mAh 3.7v battery?? I have issues with it not holding alot of charge, it is only about 24 hours old though,I am definately getting a nano replacement battery for it which should improve the play time.
I am also hoping to get a FW update as mine is this new 9.0.48 version which is not yet compatable for upgrades via the fantastic program that everyone is raving about on this site!! I hope it has one soon, as part of the the lure of a Nano Knock Off for me was to frell about with the FW and change the images and menus etc, there are some amazing art works on these forums that people have lovingly updated to their players!!

KUDOS to everyone!!

Happy New year y'all

Joffa,

I haven't seen a firwmare update that will fix issues with the battery so I wouldn't recommend you update the firmware unless you know for SURE that it's compatible with your player, otherwise you will risk killing it.

Some questions for you:
1 How long is the battery lasting you? 1-2 hours?
2. Do you play just music? Or video or both? Obvisouly video playback will suck more juice from your battery so won't last as long.
3. How long did you charge it for?
4. Do you charge it with the wall charger or through your computer?

I have a number of different MP4 players from different manufacturers. The player will lost me about 4-6 hrs music playback. I haven't tested it on video though.

HI, I have charged the unit for over a day in some cases and still only get about 30 mins out of it!! I origianlly did it with the wall charger for about 8 hours then i have used the PC via USB as well, but all seems the same no matter what type of charger I use!! My wall charger is a chinese one with an australian converter, but i dont think that makes any difference??

The battery icon is inconsistent and shows a full charge but it soon drops to one bar and then KAPUT!! I just assumed the battery was a dud. shame I was kinda hoping to get a couple of hours out of it. I only play music,in fact the whole Video, FM radio stuff does not interest me in the slightest.

I will email Uxcell and see if they can do anything otherwise I will swap out the battery for a better one!! not much else I can do, On the other hand by the time I paid $95 AU for the player and then buy a battery etc I might as well have sprung $250 for the real Ipod nono  the battery life would be worth the extra money. Don't get me wrong, I like the unit, like the way these generics don't conform to all this DRM bullshyte Apple and Microsoft install in relation to copyright music  And I like the fact it is essentially a 2 gig usb drive when i need it!!
cant wait to be able to up spec the themes and FW though!! hopefully the tool will get an update from wIre soon :P

thanks for your concerns

Cheers

Joffa
