Thank you soooo much lattesurf! I carried out the instructions on all three players and sure enough, the 4GB turned out to be 2GB, the 2GB turned out to be 1GB, but the worse one was a 4GB that turned out to be 1GB!!
But at least it won't drive me mad anymore with the sheer guesswork of how much music I can get on there before it gets corrupted!! xx
