No you can't do that.
Actually, the Menu button has differents options/choices if the song play or not when you push it.
If you push it for a long time it does another third thing : go back main menu.

ex:

1 / The song is stop and you you push "Menu"
=> you can choose betwen

- Local floder (floder AND FILES browsing)
- Delete file
- Delete all
- Exit

2/ The song play and you push "Menu"
=> you cann choose betwen
(In the second case, the song still pay along you navigate)

-Repeat
- Normal
- Repeat one
- Folder
- Repeat Folder
- Repeat All
- Random
- Intro
-Equalizer
- Natural
- Rock
- Pop
- Classic
- Soft
- Jazz
- DBB
-Tempo rate
-Replay
-Replay time
-replay gap
-Exit

Currently I haven't time to give you all menus an subnenus but It has sevral fun features (radio recording for exemple)

Yes, most old firmware aren't able to see files.
Only the quite recent new versions can.

With every MP4, in the music player screen, you can skip songs, one per one unless you find the one you want to listen.
Fortunatly, if yours songs are Wma or Mp3 and correctly taged, the music player screen can display their names. (ouf !)

But when we talk about file browsing, we talk about another feature :
As the explorer in a computer, there is alway such a screen in MP4 players to select wich folder you stored songs.
ex: RED HOT CHILI P.
MUSE
etc...

Here is the difference : It is not the same feature for all MP4.
Old firmawres can only see folders but the newests can see folders AND FILES.
ex: RED HOT CHILI P.
- californication
- my friends
MUSE
- song 1
etc...

Is it more clear for you ?

Thanks Lejigabou for the explanation.
The File Browser in my Mp4 (s1mp3 v 3.5.37) allows me to choose folders at any level but no files itselves.
Do you know of a firmware posted here that has an extended FB (that shows files)?
Thanks in advance.

Re: does the 2gb uxcell glacier have file browsing?

Hi,

You can try 9.0.43 version wich support file browsing.
Try a 9.0.43 firmawre corresponding to your kind of MPx

(The newest versions are 9.0.48 but I don't recommend it because it is not fully supported buy the moding tools for now.)

IMPORTANT => Before trying any firmware upgrading, DO a save of your original firmware !!!
And do not forget you try upgrading under your own responsability.
(see sticky posts on the forum for further help/informations)
