Just dont understand
I just dont understand Uxcell, they give you a CD with firmware upgrade software but dont provide any support when it goes wrong. i need the firmare for this http://www.uxcell.com/uxcell/retail/...v0pur1024mp002 player but have tried all of them here and still cant get it to work.
Why cant Uxcell make the original firmwares for these products available, they must know that if they provide the upgrade tool then its gonna cause hundreds of dead players |
Re: Just dont understand
broose , these nano-clones usually come from the same few manufacturers. The cds are also mass-manufactured. Uxcell works like a re-seller, so in terms of original firmware, it would be difficult to resolve, as they do not do the direct manufacturing, and have no control over these issues.
But, the advantage of buying from uxcell is that you don't get ripped off in terms of hacked memory, which is a very important factor. As long as you don't mess around with upgrading wrong firmwares, i believe the players would last for quite sometime. |
Re: Just dont understand
yes, i understand but i am just a bit frustrated coz i cant get mine to work again and it was meant to be a present for my girlfriend. As for Uxcell they are a good company, i have had several mp4 players from them without any problems at all
cheers |
broose,
The "upgrade tool" is installed as part of the MP3 Player Utilities package. All manufacturers of MP3/MP4 players that use the ACTIONS chipset will provide that tool. I don't recommend firmware upgrades to anyone. I mean, if you player is working fine, leave it. You can customise it with your own theme, but using someone else's firmware and upgrading the firmware if you player is already working normally, is something I don't recommend. Due to the high risk of firmware upgrades and the possiblity that things can go wrong (ie: unplug during upgrade, upgrade with incorrect firmware etc), I think a company will be shooting themselves in the foot if they were to support firwmare upgrades 100%. Unless they produce the firmware themselves and is ONLY specific for that player and no other firmware will work on it, then that might be ok. But these are generic players which use generic chip boards. Due to variations and customisation in firmwares by different manufacturers, there is an endless supply of different firmware which are most likely not compatible with all players. |
