UX-Osmium Dead after 5 days of use

Hi,
This cool product was working fine untill today it suddenly restarted while I was listening to music. Now it is stuck at the Hour Glass Icon when it loads. I tried to connect it to my pc that it had worked before and it got detected as a new device called USB 2.0 (HS) ADFU Device. And there was no drive assigned to it. I tried the software that came with it, no luck. Can't even format it as there is no drive associated.

Can anyone tell me what I can do?

Uxcell shipped it on 27th of Nov, so I don't think I can return it as it says on thier site that only 14 days after shipping I can return it.

Thanks in advance.

Hum.. since it's very new, rather than trying to open it, I would suggest sending an email to info@uxcell.com and asking them what you should do about it.

I'm sure they'll be able to help sort out the problem for you without you needing to open up your player.

What you could also try to do is use the [on/off] switch, switch it to OFF position, then hold down the [play/pause] button and flick the switch to [ON] again and see if that helps.

So it was working fine until you tried updating the firmware on your UX-Oxmium, is that right?

No...I only tried upgrading the firmware when it turned dead. I didn't have any reason to mess with it before it all of a sudden turned dead and kept showing me the hour glass icon.

I tried 4.05 and then 4.07 both gave me the exact same error.

Try FORMATTING your player.
Sometimes due to errors on the flash memory, you will get problems with restarts and file read errors. It might help.

Let us know how you get on.
