Default Osmium 1GB , 2'' mp4 player flash memory problem

Hi,
I have problem with this player. First few days in windows it was recognized like 1GB player, but I received messages "format error!". After I have formated it, the windows says 103 MB, and I have no any problem with "format error" messages!? What is wrong here? I opened it and there is a Samsung chip (K9x8Gxxxxx) which is realy 1GB chip.
Anybody has a solution?
Thanks

Zarko,

Some questions for you:

1. Did you buy this from Uxcell directly? Or from someone else? UXcell are very good traders (and sponsor to this site) and don't sell 'hacked' players.

2. How did you format your player? Did you use a tool or just through Windows Explorer? You might have "partition" enabled when you did the format which might have created two partitions instead.

Look forward to your answers.

I have ordered it directly from Uxcell and I really don't know what to think about these MP3/4 players with obviously hacked memory chips from China, Hong Kong ect. This is my second MP4 player with hacked memory.
I have formated it with mp3 player disk tool 4.05, and before I have done it, under option format: capacity there was amount cca 1GB, but under Partion and Encrypt option there was amount of about 103 MB?? (it says total disk capacity 103 MB) before I have formated it :?:
What could happend to my mp4 player?
I have written to Uxcell but still no answer from them..
Thanks

zarko - did you solve this?

I have exactly the same problem - I started with 1Gb, was getting errors - so I formatted & then ended up with 108Mb. The code on the chip says K9x8Gxxxxx though (Like yours) which is supposed to be 1Gb..

I'd love to know if you solved the mystery!

Zarko,

What is your order number when you made the order from UXcell?

I noticed your post in this thread here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/viewtopic.php?p=12178.

You said the following:

"This is a picture of that player
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190048136914
".

It's actually pointing to an eBay item and not an item from UXcell at all so I need to confirm with you that this is the case.

mvanwijk,

Is your player an actual UXcell Osmium player bought directly from UXcell.com? Or is it a generic MP4 player bought from somewhere else?

Admin,
My Osmium 1GB player is bought directly from Uxcell (order number: ORD20061138990). The player which is shown in that post is my second mp4 player not from Uxcell.

mvanwijk,
I haven't solved this because it seems to me that this is impossible to solve without chip replacement.

mvanwijk,

Can you do me a favour in that case? Since your player is not an UXcell player, can you post your problem in a new thread please?

This particular thread/topic deals with the UXcell players and we just don't want other members getting confused that the problem with your player is related to a UXcell player that's all.

Zarko,

Oh, I see now. I was getting confused when you mention the Osmium and another player which linked to eBay that's all.

So to confirm, you are having memory problems with which player? The UXcell one or the eBay one or both?
