Default Glacier: questions re: battery

In the ad, it says you can use a Nokia or 3650 type batter "if necessary" and "in case of emergencies". Not sure what this means! What I'd like to know is, once the original battery dies, can it be replaced with a Nokia phone battery (if so, whats the specific model no. of the Nokia battery)? Or a "3650" (whatever that is?)

Also, how long does the original battery play on music files before it has to be recharged, anyone know?

Finally, Im not sure how "portable" it is, since it seems to have no built in loop to hang a lanyard, and comes with no case. Is there a case or some means of hanging it around your neck? (Besides duct taping a rope to the back, I mean....)

michiganjfrog , i think what the ad is saying is you can just pop the battery off your nokia mobile phone and slot into your player should the battery be flat.

It should be able to use both the original and generic versions of the nokia battery. Either BL-4C or BL-5C.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

I think the original battery lasts about 6-8 hours of music playing. The replacement battery is a BL-4C nokia type, I bought 2 for 4 euro off ebay, 1900 mAh! Haven't tested them yet, coz I had to send the 2 dead players back, will have repairs or new in about 4 weeks. There is a little thingy where you can put a lanyard on, battery side top, you can see it in the middle picture in the lucky draw.

Thanks for the quick response and the pic that shows the thingy. Is there a case that fits the Glacier player to protect it?

p.s. I needed an MP3 player as a gift for a friend. I was seriously going to get either Samsung MTP6 or an iRiver T10, because they sound great and have amazing (48hr) battery life with a simple AA. But once the UXCELL site was finally working again, I veered WAY off course from my original plans, and am sold on getting a Glacier. It doesn't look like it will be as durable as either the iRiver or Samsung, (I doubt it will survive even a single drop to the floor) but with that beautiful screen it has, it does look like its a lot more fun to play with!

Don't know of a case, that's the trouble with those players, never the same size! It felt durable though, some said the battery cover felt loose, but that's cured with a piece of tape on the battery. Some need a piece of paper under the battery for better contact. The only thing I didn't like are the buttons, too small for my fingers.

@ Que, where did you find the 1900 mah batteries? I searched all of ebay and can only find 750's.
I have not got my Glacier yet, but was going to get a better battery coming while I waited for my player to show up.

Thanks........

This one wants a bit more for them, but sends second one (and maybe third) for no extra charge.

Strange, no US sellers list anything even close. I did a Google search and found that the BL-4c is rated at either 720 or 750, depending on the site. The Bl-5c is rated at ~ 850, but is around 1mm thicker. I wonder if the 5c would fit?
I see the 4c on ebay from 550 to 750 and the 5c seems to go 700 to 900.

Thanks again
