Glacier-not-so-great and palladium questions

so i got 2GB Glacier. its not bad, but not that great either. MP3 playback itself is good, only if you expect more of it you can be slightly disappointed. Not that I would be (too much) I expected somewhat cheap player :)
1. the player doesn't handle the big screen very well. you can see that even with file browsing and normal operations. playing video makes it bit worse as you can see the screen being constantly refreshed from bottom. the bigger the resolution the worse

2. file browsing is slow - it takes few seconds to load root folder (when there is around 15 directories). actually about the same time as inactivity and if you didnt press the button correctly you can be taken back to mp3 playback screen

3. with quiet MP3's you can hear some noise when doing something else (adjusting settings...), probably interferrence with circuitry, in background. when playing radio the circuitry noise is nasty

these problems aren't major, but if I wanted to watch video on the player should I go for Palladium?
I read somewhere that Palladium player has different chip and what not. how is it? is the video smooth? is the screen handled well? how does the battery last? from what i gathered it lasts about 2-3 hours with video and 8hrs MP3, which would be ok. Is it so?

I had the static too on the radio, terrible when recording from it. Sent back 2 of them that did that. About the Palladium, wait for others to report. It saw that some people bought it as an avi player, but it can't play avi, as advertised till yesterday. I checked earlier and uxcell removed the avi from the options, and now states it plays the less favourable amv files. They also changed that with the Osmium and Rhodium, that both said avi capable too. It was a mistake I guess.
About the slow menu's, my Glacier became faster after a format, and then put all the files on.

thanks for the info, Que. I will try to format it. Good call about the "avi" players, i didnt know that they changed the description and almost ordered one.

PS. ever tried to post a review on uxcell? i wrote one for headphones like week ago.

it wasnt entirely positive. the sound lacks treble and they aren't 8ohm as described but 16ohm.
the review hasnt apeared there yet :?: wonder if thats common delay, or they select reviews to be posted
