Default Can you shuffle ALL songs on the Full Metal Platinum?

Hi all,
I got the FM Platinum (1.5", not new 1.8") and I am banging my head against the wall! I cannot figure out how to shuffle ALL of the songs, not just the ones within a folder. Is there not a way to do this? TIA!

JenJen80 , the limitations of these players are the random playing feature can only occur within the same folder, not across a few folders.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Thank you for the response! So, is there a limit to how many songs a folder could have? If not I could just make one playlist folder and put all the songs in it, no? Sorry if I sound like a newb...this is actually my first MP3 player because I previously used my music player phone.

JenJen80 , there is a limitation on the number of files per folder too. Most players only supports a maximum of 99 files per folder. So anymore than 99 files, you'll need more than 1 folder to store them.

I don't, sorry. I was looking for it the other day because while mine was connected to the computer it just started acting wacky...the little timer icon just started flashing on and off and it wouldn't power on. I thought it died but then after awhile searching for the firmware to no avail, I had the thought to try a different cable - and lo and behold, it worked!

If I save all the files directly on the root, will the player shuffle more than 99 songs?

Hotboxx , technically i think it will not. I have a feeling these player's firmware are designed to handle only 2 digits of numbers. So the max it'll go is 99. However, i've not tried so yet.

I actually got it up to 101 last night on the root folder; I was being an idiot and trying to sync w/in WMP and that was the only way I could get them to not create folders based on the artist (I unchecked the option to create hierarchy folders in WMP). I didn't want to load up all my songs but I wanted to see if it would handle more than 99, and it did. However, in another thread I started, someone said they just copy and paste where the player shows up in My Computer and that's what I ended up doing to get it to create my own folders.
