CFT: Does the 800mah chargers you found on eBay require owning a Nokia phone? If not, then what kind of power supply do they require? (I kept emailing seller after seller asking them this question, and none were able to give me a clear & proper answer as to what the voltage of the adapter is required to be, and whether it can be a standard walwart adapter or if it must be specifically for a nokia phone). |
michiganjfrog : This travel charger came with my Nokia 3120 when i bought. I am giving the details:
Nokia ACP-12A Input : AC 100-240V 50-60HZ, 150ma Output: DC 5.7V, 800ma If you dont have a Nokia phone which is using bl-5c or bl-4c, you can get this charger and also you have to get that desktop charger kit from ebay to charge battery without phone. On ebay, most desktop chargers dont come with power supply, so you still need a travel charger to connect to desktop charger kit. bl-4c batteries have 720mah output so I dont think these standart mp3 wall chargers can charge your battery properly. So forget the mp3/mp4 player accessories, assume you have only a Nokia bl-4c battery in your hand, and try to find a way to charge with Nokia accessories. Thats better. An example, you can try to find old nokia phones (bl-4c, bl-5c) with original chargers from ebay. They may be faulty, doesnt matter, just enough if they charge the battery properly. Regards |

Still you have not shown me any proof that charging the battery w/ a 200-300 mA charger will cause damage to the battery. |

The reason people are having problems charging the 'glacier' is specifically due to the charger, get a 500mA charger and your problem will be solved! I've sold a couple of hundred of these exact players and only with the first 5 did i get reports with problems with charging and that was because i had sent them with a 300mA charger, the problem was solved when i sent them the 500mA charger and since never had any issues with 'Glacier' type player. The problem, for whatever reason, is almost limited to the Glacier type player, other players that use Nokia style battery don't need a 500mA charger. |

This is my last post on this topic: If you use a charger of less than 500mA with a GLACIER type player, you will degrade (or be unable to charge) your battery, which can ruin the actual player. To fix this problem, get a 500mA or above charger. I am not here trying to put Uxcell down or put up my business, i am trying to help you all. In the end it doesn't matter to me if you take my advice or not (as i assume none of you with issues with your glacier bought from me) i won't have to deal with any returns or have to fix/replace your players. |
