Default Firmware from Uxcell

HI Admin, I am curious!!!

Should Uxcell have Firmware for all their players as backup for customers who may need it?? I notice the new Full metal Platinums says it does on the product description page of these new players?? Is this for real?? How about supplying it on the disc that comes with each unit??

Just a thought.

Unless someone from UXcell is responding, you're only going to get an opinion. Mine is that they should, particularly as they advertise this. But the fact remains that they haven't yet created a means for users to download firmware. Ever, as far as I know. No point in including it on the disc, it will be outdated by the time the disc gets to you.

Hi,

Yes I agree, but I would like the idea that my player has a full back up on disc if I needed it, regards Dead player or Firmware theme moding etc etc.
This I think, this would score a a lot of points for Uxcell.

Cheers

I doubt it since they arent really the maker of these mp4 player . There are couple OEM factory that made these in china and ship them to these retailer thus making it unbrand and anyone can just slap their name on it .
I just found some branded name chinese player that is less than US mp3 player but twice the price of these cheap OEM one . Too bad I dont money to invest in these , maybe later .

Uxcell is a great company i will order more products from them.. In an ideal world yes they should supply the firmware. But it is like building your own system. Some times the best place to get firmware is from the manufacture of your CPU Cards and Not (insert PC MFG Name here) But i think the thing that irks people is the stupid line that is on there web site and hundreds of other distributors like them " Firmware updates available on website" They could do it like PC and give a link to the MFG web page with the location of the firmware. Other wise take off that statement because it is not a true statement. Firmware is not available for down load on there web page. Also there is no link to any firmware on there site. So that statement is very miss leading.

I think they would win some high marks if they would. Even if they are not wanting to tell who the actual MFG is get it from them and host it on the web site.

Thanks
