Hope my glacier doesn't melt

Anxiously awaiting my first Glacier ordered direct from Uxcell. Hoping I'm going to be spared the horror stories I've been reading about, but I'm encouraged by all the great support that's available here.

This whole chipod thing is really intruiging... on one hand, I'm kind of opposed to intellectual property theft, which runs rampant in China, but the other hand it looks like these chipod guys have introduced some real innovation with their products. So that's cool.

Ordered it on Jan 24 so it should be arriving "any day now."

I have no problems at all with my glacier, it is white 2 GB. It plays with the original battery 10 1/2 hours, with a replacement battery 13 hours. I used both chargers, but I prefer the USB charging, I am scared about the AC adapters. I put about 850 songs on it in WMA format. The sound quality is very good, and since I bought a (fake?) Creative EP-630 in ear headset, I enjoy the glacier even more. I can not tell anything about the video quality, I use the Glacier (or any other mp3 player) only for music.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of plugging a non-rated adapter into the wall either. I'm actually getting it for the video playback ability, I want to use it to view movies of my little girl while traveling (what can I say, I'm just an old fart.) I'll provide detailed evaluation of the video aspect after I've played around with it for a while.

I agree the Glacier's have great sound quality. Tell me about your fake EP-630. I'm currently about to buy cheap earbuds on eBay, which exclusively sells only fake 630's. How good/bad do they sound? How do they compare to others at the price? Do they compare at all to the real 630's, if you have heard them? Which seller did you get them from? Did they come in retail box or plastic bubble wrap?

It seems the melting adapter phenomenon is mostly caused by european 240v outlets, that require adapters for the charger. If you're in the US, should be okay, I've never had that kind of problem with any of my Glaciers. And btw, it isn't a Glacier-specific problem. The Glacier uses the same cheap charger that every MP4 player I've bought uses, including the nano clones. If there is any concern, use the USB option.

I bought the EP-630 from Ebay seller iholiday, I paid 13,94 USD for a set of two. Item number was 200071085858. The seller claims they are original. I am not a expert to see the difference, and I have no reference to compare.
The soud quality is very good, they sound better than any headset I had before. The cable is ruberized material and the 3.5mm plug is gold plated. They are not packed in the Creative retail box. They are sold in a sealed plastic bag with a Creative sticker on it. I did some research about fake EP-630 headset and everything is there to consider then as fake, but I am not convinced they are fake. Anyway, I bought a pair of headsets that produce a very good sound quality and good bass sound for a very cheap price. Delivery time was 1 1/2 week. My suggestion is to give it a try, even when they are fake, you will have a nice headset for a real bargain price.

Hotboxx , i don't know about your ep-630, but i have qualms purchasing supposedly geniune items on the internet, especially ebay.

The ep-630 retails at around USD$30 rrp, so perhaps the cost + manufacturer's profit would be about USD$10, the remaining $20 most probably are the distributor's & retailer's profits.

But you paid something like $7 each, even if it was fake, pretty much it's still a good buy. I would still get them at that kind of price.
I've been wanting to get the ep-630, but the ebay prices in singapore and australia are just way too high, considering that they might be fakes.
