Update on my (previously dead) glacier

My glacier arrived with a cracked screen last week but Uxcell (Keith) responded very quickly and they offered to send me a replacement piece of glass, which is now being shipped. I'm OK with that as it looks easy to replace and it gives me an excuse to open it up.

Anyway, have been using it for about a week now with some tape over the cracks and so far I'm very happy with it. It's got the full 2GB, sound quality is very good, and it's as cute as a button. I showed it to my friend who is an MP3 fanatic and he went nuts over it, he went online as we were talking to order one.

The interface is a little funky but if you can program a cell phone you can certainly figure out how to use this. The screen is very bright and has good resolution.

One thing... movie playback is a little choppy if the scene has a lot of complex motion in it. Also, the conversion software tends to create artifacts in the form of horizontal streaks trailing the moving objects. So if you are primarily interested in video playback you probably want to go with something that has a little more horsepower.

But all in all I'd say it's a great little player for the money and Uxcell provided good customer service in response to my problem. So if you think you want one I'd say, go for it.

I wanted a Glacier, but soo many people seem to have problem's with them :/

Is there anyway to repair a firmware on the Glacier? Can you extract it?
