I dont see how you being a US citizen exempts you from any of the horrors I described in my last msg. Wouldnt the $25US deductible that Paypal DOES withold be greater than the taxes on the player?? And if you actually have faith in Paypal going through a "fair process", I suggest you read some of the anti-Paypal sites up on the net. Or just try some of the vids on YOUTUBE. One seller lost over a $1,000 because of Paypal's "fair process".

UXcell also has a 30 day no questions asked return policy so if nothing else they should honor that and I should not have to prove anything to anybody.

That's right. So why even talk about making a claim against them with Paypal?

The other options is I paid through American Express card so I can just have my credit card company dispute it.

Again, it sounds to me like you're crying "Murderer!" because someone bumped into you on the train. Assuming you are someone who wants to avoid having the greatest amount of problems, then as someone who has tried dealing with paypal and cc companies, you are better off excercising a little more patience with your chinese sellers and waiting your turn for a response. You are not the only customer they have to deal with, plus you are demanding quick responses during a time of holiday for the chinese.
As someone who has had to deal with Glacier problems and received satisfaction from Uxcell, I'm sure they will deal with you in a fair manner.

any way not the options I would like to pursue but patience is somewhat wearing thin - reading some previous email I find it hard to believe how some people can classify this as a manufacturing defect. Someone has to hack the memory to make it look like 2GB. I am still not clear if this an honest mistake by UXCell or a regular business practice where less sophisticated buyers might never discover the real issue.

Then you haven't really done your research. Not that far back, QUE or possibly someone else who explained in very good detail why some Glaciers come this way. From what I recall (I dont guarantee this as 100% correct), the manufacturer, not UXCell, may have installed the wrong boards in some players, Apparently, the mem is on board, but the firmware or something cant activate it.

Thanks for you pointers though - I agree that in any scenario (UXCell included) the return process is not going to be pleasant.

Be thankful that you have a return process with uxcell. Had you bought it from any eBay seller, you could have been screwed by the seller, regardless of having paid with paypal, as many people have. Its an mp4 player. Having to wait for a replacement is an inconvenience at best (its not an emergency!), and its unfortunate but it happens. Maybe when you get your replacement you'll find it was worth the wait...
