Glacier battery life with Nokia BL-4C

As mentioned in my other post:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/2-gb-glac...em-vt3979.html

I have completed back to back tests of the Uxcell supplied Glacier battery (BL-4C compatable) and a genuine Nokia BL-4C.

Uxcell - 3.5 hrs on constant video play (vol 17 through headphones)

Nokia - 6.5 hrs on constant video play (vol 17 through headphones)

Will try with MP3 playback but am guessing that the Nokia should provide almost 20 hrs. This is based on Hotboxx's findings that Uxcell battery lasts 10.5 hrs on MP3 with display off.

The genuine Nokia is a "factory reconditioned" one.

Nice - I only wish that MY glacier would hold a charge. I have no idea what's wrong with it. I fully charge it, turn it off using the play button, and the next day it's completely drained. Only if I completely turn off using the power switch does it hold a charge. I've tried this with two different batteries with the same results. It's annoying to constantly use the switch, so does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve battery life so that it lasts as long as timdoggy's player? Thanks.

With display off I had a 10 1/2 hour nonstop playtime with the Uxcell Battery

With the (supposed) 1700mAh I had a 12 1/2 playtime.

Sorry to hear of your problem, not had mine long enough to know whether it will gradually power down.

Whilst I am in updating mode, dunno if anyone cares, however the genuine Nokia battery is heavier (perhaps half as much again) as the Uxcell one.

Guess its cos they have crammed in all those extra MilliAmps

Thanks for the review on battery times. Can I ask where you bought your Nokia battery?
I may get one if the price is right.

I got mine from eBay seller: fc_onlinestuff
Seller was very nice to me, and the cost was only $6US shipped.

I got it from:
http://www.qfonic.com/product_info.php?products_id=1137

I do not know if they deliver to Canada. It cost me £6 (inc delivery). If you can source one a bit more locally (US?) as michiganjfrog notes you will probably get one cheaper.

As its a factory reconditioned one, it has a few marks on it. Seems to work OK so far though.
