earphone jacks

are the earphone jacks smaller than usual on mp4s ? If so, if I buy USa earphones than I need a converting type jack.

Most have 2.5mm jacks, the default size for most headphones is 3.5mm. So you'll probably need a 2.5-to-3.5mm adapter if you want to use better earphones.

Some of the newer chiPods have 3.5 mm jacks. The Full Metal Platinum and the Glacier from Uxcell, for example, have 3.5 mm jacks.
