UXCell Earphones

Re: UXCell Earphones
In my opinion, these are the best earphones for the price. They sound awesome, have excellent bass response and do a great good at cancelling outside noise.
Granted, I have no idea if Newegg will ship to your location or not. KOSS SPARKPLUG 3.5mm Connector Canal Portable Stereophone http://images10.newegg.com/ProductIm...106-959-02.jpg |
I bought 2 different sets of the headsets in the list. The sound is acceptable, but not more than that. If you expect high quality they will be dissapointing.

If you have no other option that choosing from those, I would go for the first one, specs are similar to the Sony Fontopia Headphones Mdr-ex51lp, which are about $18/22.
An alternative is the Sennheiser mx400, or mx500 with volume control, for around $12, but those are buds, not in-ears. If you want good in-ears, spend some more and go for Sennheiser cx300, or for less the Creative EP-630, $30. Don't buy brand phones on Ebay, all fakes there. A good set of phones is the greatest benefit to enjoying music, and often the weakest link preventing just that. |
Today I went shopping and bought 2 pairs of headsets. The price was equal, 28 Euro each set. The first set is a Koss Plug in-ear headset. The second set is a pair of Skullcandy Smokin' Buds. It took me excactly 10 minutes to figure out what set was the best. And the winner is: ...........Skullcandy Smokin' Buds. They offer a amazing bass sound in combination with crisp high tones. It is really possible to hear every detail of the music, I heard things I never heard before in music that I own allready longtime. The stereo sound and effect is stunning. They also have volume control in the cable and a storage box incuded + lifetime warranty. The SkullCandy headset is the best I had untill now.
The Koss Plug produces just a little bit of bass sound, and the sound is in the high tones less crispy. The Koss headset is also lees convenient because you allways need to squeeze the foam before you can plug them in your ear. They are a little bit better than the 5 USD headsets from Uxcell, but don't offer enough value for money. I will bring them back to the shop tomorrow. |
Re: UXCell Earphones
Not familiar with those UXCell earbuds. They look nice, especially for the
price, but judging by Hotboxx opinion, I'd say the Sennheiser MX400's will have superior SQ for the same cost or less. I put a review up on them here. They don't go in the ear however. For earbuds similar to those from UXCell that have a chance of better sound, you'll have to pay a bit more than $5. Not that much more perhaps. I believe Hotboxx got good results out of some Creative EP630 fakes (a link was posted), and a couple of people I spoke to about these i-Voda's, which are Sennheiser CX300 clones, seem to like theirs quite a bit: http://cgi.ebay.com/i-Voda-In-Ear-He...QQcmdZViewItem Not hearing good things about the Koss, though. I'd stay away from that, modded or not modded. |
Re: UXCell Earphones
So I should avoid them?
I'm looking at these now: http://cgi.ebay.com/SKULLCANDY-Smoki...ayphotohosting http://cgi.ebay.com/Griffin-EarThump...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Panasonic-RP-HJ5...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/JVC-HA-FX55ZB-In...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/i-Voda-In-Ear-He...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/i-Sony-Black-In-...QQcmdZViewItem Griffin seems to be gettting reviews of being muddy and having too much bass. Skull candy are called horrible (w/ griffins) at Ilounge, cx300 being okay over there and the FX55's decent low ends. If these are really that much better I might get.. http://cgi.ebay.com/V-MODA-BASS-FREQ...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-new-sennhe...QQcmdZViewItem CX300's are supposed to be real..looking at the seller's feedback..though it ships from China so... yeah.. |

And how much bass? I think I prefer clearer, crisper sound. I hate speakers that just thump and you can't make out any words of the song. |
Re: UXCell Earphones
Did a bit of research on this stuff...
Panasonic HJ50-K: Not quite the well liked HJE50, but I'm not sure if or what the diff is. One person who owned them thought they were thinner sounding and harsher than the EP630, and was not crazy about them. Overall, they get good marks from many. JVC HA-FX55: JVC's HA-FX33 model (aka "Marshmallows") are considered a budget winner, beating out many costlier models for much less, due to their great tonal balance and other qualities. For example, some consider them to have better bass than the EP630 (which has been criticized as a one note bass), but that they are flawed in their limited detail. I know less about the HA-FX55, except that they have less bass than the Marshmallows, and one person who's listened to both said he would not recommend the FX33 over the FX55. One person compares them to Sennheiser MX400's, saying that they are similar in clarity, with the JVC having stronger bass and the Sennheiser having better mid's, but that the JVC is a better listen. One other person thinks these JVC suck: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showth...hlight=ha-fx55 iVoda: I had found a few people on Yahoo and eBay auction sites who bought the iVoda's from this seller, and either left pos. feedback on their SQ (sound quality) or told me they liked them. Don't know any more than that, other than they are CX300 knockoffs made by OVC, which has made buds to measure for better known companies like V-Moda,etc. The CX300 from Sennheiser is considered somewhat better than the EP630 from Creative, but not quite as bassy. iSony: An unknown to me. They could be decent. They are clones of a Sony model, E51 I believe. The i-Vodas are clones of the Senn CX300. Let's say for the sake of argument both of these clones approach (if not surpass) the sound of their original models. Well.... the CX300 sounds better than the Sony E51 to start off with! Griffin Earthump: One person thinks they are great for the price... bassy at first, but that loosens up. One other person thinks they were awful, not as good as the HJE50. Another person doesn't think they are awful, he believes they are merely "horrible". One says mids are a bit recessed (another agrees they are muffled), and they are no better than the Apple iPod buds and worse than the EP630's. Skullcandy Smokin: One person compares them to the JVC HXF55. A few consider them ugly, and one didn't like the sound of them in the store. Another compares it to his JVC HXF33 Marshmallows, saying the Skull's wouldnt stay in his ears, so he took the buds off the Marshmallows, and now the Skulls sound better than the JVC Mallows. V-Moda: VModa is a good brand name and they are likely not fakes, but I dont know the rep of this model, though I'm sure they must be pretty decent. I have ordered on eBay an OVC bud that is a knockoff of the VModa Vibes, and cheaper than this VModa model. I should be getting it any day now for review. CX300: I have my doubts that those are true CX300's due to the price and that the box does not say "in ear canal" (it seems from my research, more of the fakes come in the alternative box of "blocks outside noise"). However, true Senn's could have either box, and there's a better chance than not that they aren't fakes, I suppose, but no guarantee here. (Dont assume because they come in the retail box and are being sold in the US they aren't fakes. Just the fact that they're on eBay makes that a great possibility!) If you want me to pick out what I think are most likelyi true CX300's on eBay, I can, but it'll likely cost more than the ones you found. If you want clear, crisp sound that doesn't have overwhelming bass, well I wouldn't rule out the Senn MX400's. Even though they are as cheap as your original choice..... |
Re: UXCell Earphones
How are asymmetrical cords?
How do they attach? If they go around the neck as in wrap around like you're being strangled, I'm staying away from them.. |

Re: UXCell Earphones
Got the Earthumps for $15 inc. shipping (even though I really paid $20).
The sound isn't any better than the stock iPod earbuds. They're a bit worse. The sound is muddled, muffled, unclear, muddy, cloudy..mumbly. It's little like the sound is coming through a pillow or a blanket...or like someone is trying to talk to you through a closed window. It isn't clear or crisp. The bass is there, it's on the strong side, I would like a bit less. IMO, you shouldn't pay any more than $10. They make the stock iPod earphones sound good. Pros: in-ear, some outside noise reduction, comes with a little zipper pouch/case, black, symmetrical y cord, comfortable. Cons: not worth the price, no improvement over the iPod earbuds. |
Re: UXCell Earphones
Just realized I was pushing them in too much/too far into my ear canal :x
They sound okay now. |
Re: UXCell Earphones
I have five children so I am up to my ears in MP3 players. The one I've got from Uxcell seems to be the best! They're all cheap HK.
I play music for a living but had never tried in ear headphones. I bought 5 headphones from hkws8 on eBay and wasn't disappointed. The CX 300 seems genuine. The sound is very accurate with smooth high end and un-hyped bass. They're my favorite out of the bunch. The Shure E4g's seem well built and sound okay but they're not the real deal. The Sony MDR-EX90 may be genuine but they're not as accurate as the CX 300's. Somewhere I read that the Sennheiser factory is in China. I got them w/ s/h for ~15$. Delivery was quick. |
