Glacier

I know They say dont sream from the roof top. But I got questions. My glacier screen is 1 1/2 inces. I thoght 2" meant 2 inches. The memory is 103 m not 2gb. Not even close. It holds maybe 20 songs and thats it. Its been going off since the day I got it. The only function Im happy with is the radio. But thats not the main purpose I purchaed it for. and I havent found the preset equilizer yet. where do you find the firmware update on their web site? I did the low format and all that and I still got 103m. Did I get screwed or is there something I can do. I have contacted seller whom I thought was from uxcell. And I waiting on him to reply. I wont bad mouth his name. is ebay rateing is 99.9 with about 4000 transaction. Ill give him a chance to fix the problem. But its a big let down!!!

Camaro , the screen size is measured diagonally rather than by the 4 sides.

From the looks of it, you are having problems with hacked memory and player unable to turn on without earphone plugged in.

i'll suggest you get a full refund. If the seller is not uxcell's ebay account, then likely all his/her players would be hacked. Likewise, if it was under uxcell, i'm pretty sure they would fix the problem by replacing the player.

Re: Glacier

Camaro,

Are you sure this is a UXcell seller though? Can you tell me who you bought it from?

I have contacts with people from UXcell, so I can try to ask the question.

I'm just worried that since the "Glacier" uses a generic casing, someone might be passing off as a "Glacier" (the brand from UXcell) when it isn't that's all.

Yeah, another thing that gives me pause to think that it doesn't come from UXCell is that your mystery seller has a 99.9% rating.
By the way, don't try to update the firmware. Yer gonna be sorry...

This is the reply from the seller/uxcell. My question to this is. Should formating more than once work. Or should it format the first time???

"Please try the following method to fix the problem.

1. Hook up your player with the USB cable and hook up the USB cable
with the computer.
2. In general, the computer can recognize the player as a drive, for
example E drive.
3. Make sure you save up all the files you need that you saved in the
flash drive. After formatting, nothing can be resumed.
4. Then, click the appropriate drive that your mp3 player belongs to.
5. Press format, choose FAT or FAT 32 as the speed to format your drive.
6. You may need to repeat step 5 more than once, until it is
successfully formatted.

After the above procedures, see whether you can resume the player to
normal."

Thing is, it may not complete the first formatting procedure, which is probably why they tell you to repeat if necessary. I suggest you low level format it, according to the procedure in hacked thread. For the Glacier, you need to use the latest 4.09v of AMV, which contains the formatting tool. Then you may need to high level format it once, before low level. In case the player does not have advertised memory, only a low level format will fix this.

The equalizer can be accessed by hitting MENU key while a song is playing.
