The Ho,
We are all her to try to help each other. Let's try to get your issue resolved as quickly as we can: 1. How long have you had your player? 2. Did you buy it directly from UXcell? If so, what is the order number? 3. Do you remember what had changed or anything was done to it before the problems started happening? 4. Can you player be detected by Windows when plugged into the USB port? To answer your question in your original post, yes, it does say it's firmware upgradable. Majority of the MPx players do. However, it doesn't necessary mean that they will relase a new firmware for the player all the time (or at all). Looking at your problem, a firmware update won't help solve the problem. It seems either there is a problem with the internal memory chip or possiblity static within the player that's causing the hourglass problem. If you can answer my questions above, I'll see what I can do. |
Re: Can't say I'm very happy with UXCELL
Thanks admin,
I'm heading off to work and will shoot you the data a bit later. This topic has gotten out of hand. I did buy from Uxcell. Order number to follow. Thanks for the constructive feedback. |

Re: Can't say I'm very happy with UXCELL
Hello, I have the same problem with my 1.8 MP4 player - "hourglass of death". I tried upload firmware from my backup, but player said me - "Flash write error".
I wrote email to UXcell 3 days ago, but no answer :( I bought this player directly from UXcell, I have also order number. Is it possible to solve this situation? |
Wiseman , i'm not sure of the warranty policy of uxcell regarding dead players through firmware flashing. Perhaps you'll need to wait for uxcell's reply on this.

Re: Can't say I'm very happy with UXCELL
lattesurf: no no no, I had death player and THEN I tried flash it.
|
Wiseman , in this case, if the player arrived DOA, you'll need to contact uxcell for an exchange.

I've had three FMP's one 2 1.8s and one didn't work so I had to send it back the exact same day Igot it.
and then the other one was a 1.5 and it says disc error every single time I turn it on so I reformatted it and then it said 0% memory. and kept saying disc error so I lieft it plugged in over night and when I turned on the computer it said there was an error on G: nothing could be writtien to it. and then it was stuck on the hourglass. so I tried the dead player guide just the software part now it's just blank. This is the third one I'm gonna have to send back. Shouldn't I get a return label or something so I dion't have to pay to ship it back because it's like 16.00 with insurance. and you have to have insurance it's going to the other side of the world. |
