Default Tiny FMP 1.8 2GB review....

I've came across this forum and fatwallet and stumble upon these MP4 players, i was skeptical @ 1st and did not need one (when do I actually need one when i have tons of mp3 players laying around) but seeing new toys i couldn't help myself and placed an order for a black 2GB 1.8" screen FMP. and here's a few points about the player

SIZE: this thing's size is amazing, not because it's super small in terms of volume but it's desgin is very good. Notice on these small devices you might be able to get something with small width and lengh (same capacity of 2GB) BUT it'll be thicker and that's what's this player is best at, it's THIN, and small enough that you can stick it in your pocket without it bulging up that's a +

VOLUME/SOUND: I've had quite a few players, this one actually sounds louder and it's got enough setting in the EQ to fit my liking. This is important if you're using cheapo ear/headphones that will not produce enough sounds. Actually this player produced the loudest sound out of my 10+ mp3 players... I'll give it a + here.

FM radio: This is another +, alot of mp3 players DO NOT have this, and I do feel that it's an important features to give the user a little change up in music, FM is clear, if this thing doesn't pick up signal, chances are your other FM players will not.

Speed/Navigation: I ain't even gonna lie, this thing is not as responsive as I like it to be (and I'm no speed demon)... the control is a bit difficult to get used to at 1st... If you notice the dang thing has 4 directional button (left/left, right/right/ up/menu down/volume) and a center button, RATHER than making the center button = OK. they made it so that up/menu = OK, and the center button = CANCEL... haha... so it'll take a while to get used to, the buttons are also not very responsive, I'll give it a -, some said that it's crap because it's low price, well I can assure you that it wont' cost much more to produce something more responsive (like the millons of other players out there) other than that, the nagivation is ok IMO... not the best (some other players manage the same thing with like 1/3 the screen )

Video Playing/Screen Size: here's another + on this player, because it has to play video, the screen is pretty dang big (in terms of mp3 players)... it's also colorful, the icons are a bit cheessy but it's ok. HOWEVER the video play back is a bit unnecessary because i rare use it (2GB isn't enough for music alone) the 4GB version might be a better fit for video play back... however having this feature i'll give it a +.

Voice recording: almost all player has this, but it's better to have than not to.

Battery Life: ok this thing sucks the monkey's ass on battery life... for some reason it only takes slightly more than 30min to fully charge, but it ain't holding the charge for long... i use it with on/off basis and the total playing time isn't all that much (maybe 3 - 4 hours) before it completely drain out... also leaving it off also drain battery (not as fast as having it on ofcouse but i did not have this problem with other players).

Price: for 50 bucks it packs alot of features... some of which are not used most of the time.... i say it's pretty cheap, but not the CHEAPEST... if you're just looking for mp3 playing/FM players, i suggest looking over to the CREATIVE side, they produce nice players for about the same price range, and if just for MP3 playing ect.. without video playing, it'll beat this thing in alot of department.

Computer Connection: it's a bit slow... and also do not plug in before u turn it on... wont' work like that. TURN IT ON then plug it in (again flaw in the development department)....

in truth, i'm a tech savy and takes care of my equipment well... i have not had any problem with it not working like many others... but again i only had it for a week... over all if u want something that can do a crap load of stuff for cheap.. get this... if you're just aiming at mp3 playing/FM then i would look somewhere else.
