Glacier Video Playback

So i already have a decent 2GB mp3 player but when i saw the price of the 2GB Glacier and the fact that it has video capabilities i was intrigued (the Glacier because of the replaceable battery) So how is the quality of the video playback? Id mainly use it for Anime and such. And if it not that great which player would you recommend for videos (atleast 2" screen and $50-60)

I can only comment on the sample video clip that it comes with.

I believe the Glacier supports max 12 FPS. The sample video doesn't look good to me in that in drops frames and at 12FPS the lip sink is really bad. You also getting very slow frame refresh.

Might work better with other video files, but I wouldn't rate the sample clip.

Anyone else? Im really wanting to buy one immediately if the video is at least acceptable.

Don't buy the Glacier for videos. As steveamos1234 said: The sample video has bad quality and it's the same with 2 other videos I've tested.
But the Glacier is a nice audio player.

I beg to differ. I have two Glaciers and use them primarily for viewing anime. Playback is fine for that. Not so good for live action video. It's a question of bandwidth -- live action vid has too many pixels changing from frame to frame, anime doesn't . You also have to play with the AMV conversion software to fine tune the resolution/frame rate. There is some artifacting in the video and an occasional stutter, but hey, I get that on my Creative Zen Vision too. So for casual anime viewing I would definitely reccomend it.

BTW, after reading the other posts on this topic I have to say I love how people post opinions based on no experience whatsoever. I guess that's the nature of these things, but honestly, if you dont' know what you're talking about, why talk?

I think after testing of ca 6 videos I can say: No video had really good quality. Especially the fullscreen videos do not run very smoothly. Furthermore AMV and MTV are bad video codecs. Perhaps it is good enough for some anime stuff but even the rendered sample video did not look good. I would recommend a Teclast player for viewing videos, they can play AVI files with XVID/MP3 codec.

PS: Perhaps you can upload some of your videos for testing?

I pretty much agree with everything you are saying (BTW, what is "ca video"?) but the original question in the post was "does the Glacier give decent playback for anime?" and I would still have to say my answer is yes, provided we assume that "decent" falls somewhere between "good" and "unacceptable". And factoring in the very affordable price, of course.

I've heard a lot about those Telecasts. What are your thoughts regarding performance/quality as compared to Uxcell (which belive it or not I am pretty happy with.)
