Wow, i don't think these are very good players
Initially when i got the player it was OK... nothing great but can't complain for the price i paid for it. After about 1 month of use, i'm very dissatisfy with it for these reasons.
1) It is very slow and unresponsive, meaning you click and 2 sec later it moves... that is completely crap for a portable player 2) Battery... this thing does not last long at all, the only way to use it is to charge it every freaking day (which is not suppose to happen).. also leaving it off for 2-3 days will drain out the battery completely. 3) If the battery is drain out, it will also wipe out all the memory (which i do not know why)... and supposely i had the "average" ones that actually works/function, i've heard of people who got defective unit... at a glance these things are worth their price, but after using it for a while i do not think it's worth it... just something to watchout when you guys decide to purchase these... i did it out of curriousity... i've also purchased some other items on store shipped from china like this and it work well... it just that these MP4 players aren't one of those items that work well. |
Are you just realising this?
Welcome to the wonderful world of 'chipods'!! No one should expect to get a perfectly working mp4 player for such a low price. Anyone who does would have to be a fool. I've had a cheap piece of cr@p for almost 3 months now and i love it. It's slow and stubborn as a mule but it gets the job done. Worth every penny of the $50 i paid and i would not swap it for a $250 iPod Nano. Why? Because they can't play videos, you have to muck around with iTunes to get music on it, it'll only play Apples preferred formats and it costs an arm and a leg to repair or change the battery. I can change my old battery for a longer lasting one for about $10 and double or triple my play time, but i've never lost the contents of memory when the battery was so low it wouldn't turn on. I've made a custom 'Docking station' for my computer (thanks to Joffas design :) ) that i plug it into at night and give it a top up charge while i'm sitting here. I know what to expect when i buy, and steer way clear of Ebay. I've got a few for my friends and they love them too so this whole 'chipod' thing isn't really new for me.. call it a 'hobby' |
For me, it's like an 'addiction'. Always on the look out for newer models with new chipsets and firmware to see what else is availble.
I love the chipods because you can modify it easily. Also the cheap price is good. I don't feel so bad if I drop it, break it or brick it. Plus, the accessories are really cheap too. Not to mention the video playback and the flexibility of putting the files, folders I want on there the way I like it and not let iTunes do it for me. |

Re: Wow, i don't think these are very good players
My daughter's chipod did the same thing. Sorry to hi-jack but how do you get anything back on it when EVERYTHING is gone. When I plug it into the puter and go to the g drive there is absolutely nothing there. Her chipod says empty disc. I just learned how to drag everything into the folders. Now there ar eno folders. It took me forever to get the music on there and then boom... gone :(
