Glacier showing 228MB

I recently bought a Glacier 2GB for my girlfriend and we're having issues with it.
Originally, we could only copy about 25 songs to it, and any song after that would get "Format Error".
I since reformatted the device, and now its only showing 228MB of space on the device.

Running firmware 9.0.50.

I am currently talking with uxcell in email to try and fix the problem. I will report here with any updates.

Try this:
Sys settings -> Online mode -> Normal Only

Re: Glacier showing 228MB

Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately, it didnt work.

Even when I go to the mem settings on the device itself, it shows 228mb :(

hybrid , likely that the installed memory chip was a hacked 256MB chip.

However, i'm quite sure that it is a problem with the manufacturer rather than uxcell themselves. Most likely you should be able to exchange your Glacier for another real 2GB.

Re: Glacier showing 228MB

Yeah I figured something might be wrong with the memory, seeing as we had issues putting any more than about 25 songs on initially, even though the unit was showing 2GB capcity.

Now its only showing 228MB.

Uxcell have just told me via email to try upgrading the firmware.
They told me to use the mv-202 firmware, but I cant seem to find it anywhere.

try asking them for a replacement, as I'm sure it was unintentional, but it's still their responsibility to replace a faulty memory chip.

Re: Glacier showing 228MB

Well they sent me 4 different firmware versions to try and none of them worked, so I'm now sending it back.

Hopefully all is good with the replacement.

fcerrato,

When did you order it and what was your order number? I'll see if I can get someone from UXcell to contact you about it as I have one contact at UXcell who I can ask.

Hello. I bought a MP4 player model: (http://www.uxcell.com/mp4-player-lcd...ry-p-5191.html ) and today i recievede a totally wrong model, screen size and shape player from Yours. And for my surprise, after formatting the flash memory, my 4gb mp4 player becomes an 128mb player. I have all errors when trying to download or play files larger than 128mb. Is a clear case of racked ship memory. My concern is about a period of 30 days to refund, because www.uxcell.com is offline for some reason. What shoud i do about it? Send back the player to what address?
PS: here is my Uxcell Shipping Notice - mv0blk4096mp039:
(We shipped your order (with Our Order ID: ORD20070904967) on 2007-09-10 15:49: 20.0)
(Tracking Number:RA209398069HK)
I appreciate any help about refund procedures, address to send it... By the way, is the www.uxcell.com ofline? thanks for helping.
