Glacier Firmware Update... and my player was died...
 

I've downloaded the firmware file from Uxcell site, the Glacier 9.0.48 firmware version. I've followed all steps described in the instructions sheet.

Using the MP3 Utilities 4.05, I've selected the downloaded file, and after push the button, a message says that the update was successfully finished.

But now the screen came white, then shutdown.

Windows recognize, show all files, but I can't hear/see my files on MP3.

Anyone can help me? Where I can find a dumped firmware for UXCELL GLACIER 2GB 2 inch screen?

yikes. This is the fourth time I've seen posts with people having dead players from firmware upgrades from the Uxcell site. Sorry the only advice I can offer you is to search for compatible firmware in the downloads section and try flashing that to your player. In general, as a warning, I really don't think it's a good idea to flash firmware to your player, even if it is from Uxcell, because there are hundreds of different firmware versions and you don't know which ones are compatible or not.

The firmware was updated, the player is alive, and I'm thankful.

One thing that I've saw is: the filenames are trimmed after 14 characters... there any way to solve that?

since then (yesterday) the player does not work, the screen came white and then it turn off.

now i used the fw posted by silverman, but i still have the same problem, white screen

I have the same problem as omijam,

the problem is that the firmware from uxcell site is for CTW500 chip and the repair one also. and ours has ATJxx series so we need one for the ATJ2097 chipset to recover our players.

My unit will not accept files they all come up as wrong format.

Hi.

Maybe the Problem is in the ID3Tag v1. At first Start of my player I've uploaded MP3 files with an corrupt ID3Tag and wonder why my Player shows me ACSII Codes as Titel.

Maybe you try www.mp3tag.de to change or delete the Tags

Thank You for the reply. That is not it because it did it with all files AMV and JPEG pictures as well.
I did download the link posted by silverman and used it but it is 9.0.50 not the 9.0.51 that was in the player. It did work after some scary moments getting it back to English from Chinese after the upgrade. It seems now the MP3 players is only 1GB instead of the 2GB it came as so I am thinking it was hacked and that is why I had the problem after it was 3/4ths full.
I am looking for the 9.0.51 firmware because that was the original that was in it but it seems to work fine with the 9.0.50 firmware just a fews things work differently.
ThankYou all it seems these units are great if you are know your way around a computer and are not afraid to try things.

hi i have a problem with mp4 glacier too. I wanted to install a new firmware, cause I wanted to solve my problem with adapter.
I did format with MP3 Utilities 4.05.

Then it wanted to Windows XP´s format, and when I´d format, in my glacier appeared new files, with crazy change´s dates and crazy names.
Currently it appeared a file system RAW. What can I do with?

hey all PLEASE help me fix my glacier mp4 cuz i loved it so much
first , i got the hourglass
second , i upgraded it with a wrong firmware and it show only a white screen and by the way i tried soooo many firmware versions and they all do the same thing

the program says "the upgrade is success, now the program will exit!"
and nothing happen, just when the program says this message my mp4 player disconnects automatically.
what can i do ???
what firmware should i use pleeeease?
what program should i use too?

i also firmwire updatet my 4gb glacier. but after a few tries, the screen went black.
it doesn't work anymore. even my computer doesn't see it anymore so i cant try another firmwire update
can someone help?

hi, i've got a glacier player but it doesn't work, i tried to find the correct firmware but i couldn't get it, the chip is a atj2091n, and the main board is a qy-066fv0 2007.05.11, does anybody has the firmware?
