wat amv players are and wat kinda compression and how small

i have version 3.68 on my comp and i hav tried a couple of videos. i hav no amv player i am just experimenting to find out wat amv players are and wat kinda compression and how small videos are.

.AMV video files is a good compression. Mainly because it's makes the screen size of the video much smaller than the originally (ie: 128 x 128).

Converting a 700 MB DivX movie to .AMV on 128x96 will produce a 198MB .AMV file. So file size is quit small.

If you want to test it out, download the ver 3.68 of the MP3 Convert Tool and see how you like it.

Yesterday I converted a .avi video to .amv using mp3 utilities 3.68. I selected 128x96 high quality option. My original file is 59 MB and converted .amv file is 84 MB. I was surprised :-B

How long is the video?
I've converted the Nemo movie from Divx to .AMV and it's only 198MB.

I've converted a lot of music videos (downloadable from this site in the "Samples" section). They're on average 50MB .wmv, .mpg and .avi video and they all convert to about 15MB-20MB in size.

If your original file's resolution smaller than 128x96? If it is, then it will make the .AMV file bigger than your original because the converter tool will have to increase the video size therefore making the file bigger.

My original file resolution is 352x240 and the lenght of video if 30min. I think the original files are comressed with some best compression technique.

Check your file extension on the converted video. You may find that it is actually a MTV file. Mtv tends to increase original file size since it a compressionless format, and adds overhead to original file.
