why do you wanna build an adapter? these things aren't that expensive and you should be able to find them in most electronics stores that have a selection of audio accessories

The only adaptor I could find in town costs $23. That’s equivalent of 2 hours labour on my paycheck. I got a cheap Cell phone earpiece from the dollar store and used it to build my adaptor in about 10 minutes!

okay $23 for an adapter is really expensive.. must be quite a special adapter then... over here i saw ordinary adapters for less than $5, the "cable adapter" i bought in a local electronics shop cost less than $9... though via ebay you could get them for less than $2 or $3.. but i didn't want to wait days for it...

i wonder what made the one in your local shop that expensive..

but building your own adapter is of course a good solution then ;)
