Request from Mac user: Can someone convert .AMV files for me

I'm looking for someone to convert some .wmv files to .amv files. Would anyone be interested. I have a Mac and so far have not found any way to convert to the .amv file format.

cupajoe,

It is a real shame they didn't make an AMV Convert Tool for a Mac.

Try this site: http://www.macwindows.com/emulator.html

It lists some PC emulating software you can install on a Mac. Hopefully after that, you can install the AMV Convert Tool.

In the meantime, if you have some .WMV files which are fairly small (ie: less 30 MB's) and they are good to share, you can upload them on the site and I can convert them for you and put them on the site for everyone else as well :).

Converted it for you now.
Downloadable from here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=123

Hope you like it.
It's quite good actually. A pity the original is quite small.

Thanks! This was scaled down from the original. Next one will be a bit bigger.
Thanks again. This is really nice of you! :D

cupajoe,

You're most welcome.
Try those emulator software I mentioned and let me know if that works for you. I would definately be interested to know if that works with the AMV Convert Tool on an emulated software for a Mac.

Your feedback would be appreciated.

I use Virtual PC on an eMAc with 1Gb RAM and AMV converter. Works OK, the conversions are actually quite fast. But I hate having to boot up VPC every time, and it takes too much grunt to have VPC open all the time, so it's best to do a couple at a time if you are into this sort fo stuff. I've used GuestPC and made the mistake of buying iEmulator. Nice try, but too hard. In order, they are slo-o-o-w and s-l-o-o-o-o--o [get the point? :) ]

How do you get your player recognized in VPC?.

I have VPC 7 w/ XP home and I'm having trouble keeping my player's connection when I click on it in VPC's usb folder. It shows as a mass storage device, but when I check that box and enable usb, the player's icon on the Mac desktop disappears and the player screen changes from the connection screen to the video screen (first screen in the player's menu).

I was able to get everything to work correctly once (the player showed up as a removeable disk under my computer in VPC and the small disconnect icon in the window's task bar).

Since then, I can only get the player to appear as a shared network under my computer.

I also first used a free emulator which was very slow, and then I bought Guest PC, and that was slow too. Virtual PC seems to be the best as an emulation program, it is decently fast on my G4 iBook.
