Re: Headphones Question :)

what is this 2 or 3 rings stuff... you mean rings in the stake which is inserted in the hole (2.5 or 3.5)?
If it is so... that makes the difference between stereo and mono adapters.
Am I right?

Close enough. An adapter with one band would be mono (one positive and one negative means one channel is possible. Two bands allows two separate positive conductors, so you can have two channels playing at the same time, stereo.

Some brands of cell phone have that third conductor on there to do various things like allow a mic. By inserting the incorrect one You are basically not lining up the metal bits correctly and won't get the same output you'd expect.

Hi guys, first of all sorry about my bad english, I'm brazilian congratulations to the admin of the site, it may be very useful to many people that have mpx players and has so many answers.
So let's go to my question, most of all mp4 players come with a 2.5mm socket, which are very common on cellular headphones. Mp3 players, walkmans etc, come with a 3.5mm socket.
So its very difficult to find 2.5mm headphones here in Brazil, so on the store I bought my mp4 player I already bought plus 3 headphones in case the first breaks.
Until here everything is Ok, but the wire doesn't reaches my pocket, it's too short.
I would like to know what you guys do about this problem, because it's very annoing my mp4 player balancing.

So that's it, I'll really apreciate your answers.

Hughs!

You might want to check out UXCell. They have both 2.5mm headphones and adapters. The cords might be longer than the headphones you have.

Take a look at these I have owned these for about two years

The cord is really long enough for your needs, however the site is based in the UK
