Can we list the songs and switch off the display while playi

Hello friends of Mympxplayer,

Thank you very much for your forum.

Two days back I bought a MP4 player:1GB MP3/MP4 USB 1.5''/2 Sound/REC/FM/AMV/Test/Photos/Phonebook 1G with the Firmware version SC85052E dated 11.4.2006 ACT_V3.5.35.

I need help in the following.

1. In the above player I donot have any option to list out the songs loaded and later to select. Is there any firmware upgrade with which I can make it to list the songs and then select the one which I want? Please help and guide me

2.If I have 100 songs of 3 different categories, can store them in 3 folders and then select what folder to play? I tried this option but when I select a folder other than 'root', the songs are not listed. How to achieve this?

3. While playing the songs, the display will always be on. Most of the times the player will be inside the pocket. Is there any firmware upgrades with which the display is switched off after few seconds (say 20 secs or so) to save power? If so please guide me. ( i remember reading regarding such option availalable on this Forum)

Hi srinathtk,

From my experience with my player (a 1gig Nano clone) it is only possible to view folders, not the mp3s they contain, to the best of my knowledge there is no firmware upgrade that will make this happen.

I have my system setup as follows, in the root of the player I have 5 folders Music, Movies, Pictures, Text, and Record. In the music folder I create folders for artists or albums and place my mp3's in these. In the music player I can then press menu\local folder and then scroll to the folder I want to play then press the play button which takes me out of menu mode and press play will play the folder I have selected, or i can scroll left or right to a particular track within that folder (scrolling is slow).
Repeat needs to be set to normal for this to work.

Movies and Pictures are setup the same.

In settings under LCD set I have 2 headings called darkel and black which appear to do the same thing. Here I can set the number of seconds the player will wait before switching off the lcd. 0 turns the function off and the lcd will stay on. A little glitch on my player is only 5sec or 10sec work anything over 10sec and the lcd stays on.

Whilst these settings work fine for me not all players function the same.

I suppose you could sort the music into genres, and change the local foler to what mood your in for example "dance, love, oldies" etc. Doesn't solve the problem I know but it might help some people

Thank you for the guidance. It is a great idea of having such a great website fo help people like us and I appreciate the person who started this website(Who is the moderator???)

As per your guidance, I created folders and stored the MP3s according to my needs. Atleast now I can select the theme and play. But I was disappointed that I can not list out. Hope some of our good friends come up with the new firmware with this option.Thanks Tadad1 once again.

Yes, now made the necessary setting in the LCD so that the LCD swithes off after 5 secs. Great power savings.....
