Anybody to modify the Firmware to list the songs
Dear Friends at Mympxplayers,
It is a very useful and helpful site to all the users of these MP4 players. While going through the different options, while in the 'Music ' menu, when I went to 'Delete' option, I was amazed to see that all the MP3 files are listed and I could browse them like explorer. If the same facility is given in play option, it would be a greatest facility and nothing like it. As I am not a software geek, I am not able to help in modifying this. Can anyone modify the software and help lot of people of this community?? Please please modify and help us.............. Waiting for help, Srinath |
Re: Anybody to modify the Firmware to list the songs
I noticed that as well all my tracks came up in the folder. Problem is getting the tool to be able to edit the software on the player, because s1res only allows changing of images and fonts, sucks really.

Re: Anybody to modify the Firmware to list the songs
srinathtk, would certainly be a great feature. Having looked at the contents of an extracted .bin file I wouldn't know where to start. But there might be a hex genius who can make it happen. :)

Re: Anybody to modify the Firmware to list the songs
I too think a listing feature would make these toys REALLY complete ...
I fear however, if it has not been found by now how to to do it, changes are that it will never be possible ... ans that would be a shame ... |
I think even if people that come here to talk about doing it, everyone is too scared to muck up their players :P
|
hmmm... arent the mp4 players Os open source... after all thats why theres so many versions out there right? why dosent somebody crack open some source code that can read C and see if they can make it happen.....

Re: Anybody to modify the Firmware to list the songs
yep, I think I screwd up my player.... tried editing the firmware with a hex editor, and uploaded it back on...now the player is stuck on the blue screen with the hourglass and doesnt do anything else. Windows can detect some USB device as USB2 (FS) ADFU Device, but no drive apears in "My computer" and the firmware upgrade tool cant "recover" or reload another firmware.
I guess i killed my MpxPlayer :( if anyone has any suggestions just psot a reply |

I have a new player with the 3.5.37 firmware. I have two songs (mp3 and ogg) but I am unable to 'browse' music files. Can you tell me how you are browsing music files on your player? The only obvious button I press is the [M] button to bring up the menu, then chose "Local Folder", press the [M] button then chose "ROOT", press the [M] button then nothing happens. However, if I chose "Delete", the list of songs to delete do appear. srinathtk, I agree with you, that would be a great feature to have! Saves you having to wait to get to the 100th song that's for sure! :) |
mine is 3.5.37 firmware. too
but can't browse 4 file it will able to explorer when i press delete |
i have the new firmware and can't browse either
|
so it was just a fake??
very interested in this feature. |
I also have .37 FW version, but I don't have either the "list" function.. ;~~~~
I bet that the FW can be edited with HEX or C++ =] |
what fabn said is true... there is a firmware that allows for list of music file browsing... i tried it on my player but it scribbled my screen, made it unreadable if anyone wants to try it i'll upload it later on... AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
