Memory chip size.
With the growing number of reports of hacked memory chips showing sizes far greater than they really are, find out your players real size by taking the back off your player and noting the brand and number of your memory chip (the largest chip on your board). A Google search with this information should provide you with specifications regarding the real capacity of your chip.

Re: Memory chip size.
When you put it back together, does it look as though it's been opened at all?
I got a 4GB player yesterday and am wondering what i should do with it ... seems like the firmware can only handle up to 2gig of data but it will be interesting to see what size the memory really is |
Zaidon, I suppose that depends on your player, mine is a Nano look-a-like with 2 small screws on either side and the back lifts straight off without any problems.
